For the 12th consecutive year, ScreenDance Festival is now accepting submissions for our upcoming program on April 29th in Stockholm, as well as for our year-long touring programs across Sweden and internationally in 2025-2026. The festival showcases an extensive selection of dance films, alongside a variety of parallel activities including school projects, professional workshops, screenings, panel discussions, and talks throughout the year.

The festival has hosted at Dansmuseet, the world’s first museum dedicated to dance and movement, located in the heart of Stockholm (Drottninggatan 17). Many dance lovers have enjoyed both the museum’s stunning exhibitions and our festival screenings at this venue.

We warmly invite both Swedish and international artists, from any dance style, to submit their work.

Rules & Terms

ScreenDance Festival 2025-2026 invites filmmakers, choreographers, dancers, and other artists to submit their dance films for consideration. Selected works will be featured during the festival in 2025 and in the touring program from 2025-2026, both in Sweden and internationally.

The festival may shift to an online platform if necessary. ScreenDance Festival reserves the right to make adjustments in such cases. By submitting, artists agree to allow the festival to screen their selected films on virtual platforms during the festival and touring program for 2025-2026, both in Sweden and abroad.

Application Guidelines for Dance Film Categories:
- International Selection – Entry fee: 40 USD per submission
- Swedish Selection – No entry fee
- 1-Minute Selection (new) – 10 USD per submission
- Gif.Dance Selection (new) – No entry fee

Key Dates & Requirements:
- Submissions open on October 1st, 2025.
- Applicants must be at least 18 years old.
- Films must have been produced after 2022 and not previously submitted to the festival.
- For the International and Swedish categories, films must not exceed 15 minutes.
- If applicable, films must include English subtitles by the time of screening.
- Each artist can submit up to two works, with a separate entry form for each.
- Works that do not meet the criteria will not be considered.
- Artists will be notified via email regarding selection.

Copyright and Legal Agreement:
- By submitting, participants confirm they hold all necessary copyrights, including music, text, and visuals, and have authorization from performers and crew.
- Participants agree to indemnify and hold ScreenDance Festival harmless from any legal claims regarding copyright infringement.
- Selected films will be screened publicly, on online platforms, and as part of the festival's tours in Sweden and abroad during 2025-2026.
- The festival reserves the right to use submitted materials for promotional purposes and archival research.

Exhibition Formats:
Once selected, entries must provide a high-resolution copy in .mp4 format:
- Video: High Profile H.264, 1920 x 1080, 16:9
- Audio: 16-bit, Stereo, 48,000 Hz
- Include two still photos (1600 pixels wide) with your submission (please provide photo credit).

- Incomplete applications may result in disqualification.
