Scream Queer - Eros and Thanatos

SCREAM QUEER Festival PARTICIPANT AGREEMENT:

1) Please, DO NOT SUBMIT movies that can be shown to standard festivals: we want EXCESS! We want give space to those that dare to DARE and in this conservative era, are banned from other fests!

2) We are against providing feedback on why we don't select submissions: it's obvious that those selected in our view are better or more appropriate to the fest and programming... this doesn't mean necessarily your work is BAD, just we receive many works every year and we need to make choices (not always easy to make!)

The participant represents and warrants that he has full legal right and authority to submit thefilm/video project for consideration by SCREAM QUEER Festival.

The participant agrees to hold SCREAM QUEER Festival and its sponsors harmless in any and all matters pertaining to the consents, licenses, and approvals of the film/video project. The participant understands that his submission is in no way a guarantee of acceptance into SCREAM QUEER Festival.

All entries selected, grant SCREAM QUEER Festival the right to use any footage from the preview screener and all submitted publicity photos and any other materials sent to us pertaining to this entry for SCREAM QUEER Festival’s promotional purposes, without limitations.

No one from SCREAM QUEER Festival or its sponsors has guaranteed the participant admission into the festival. The participant has read the terms and conditions appearing herein, and agrees, without exception, to all the terms and conditions stated:

WE ACCEPT OLD AND NEW FILMS, but not films already submitted in this fest.

Films in a language other than English must be subtitled in English.

NOTE: Only the main categories of the fest (best LGBTQ and SHORT) will receive a physical prize and only features winner are screened. We don't use DCP

SUBMISSION FORMAT:
We don’t accept physical copies.

ENTRY FEES
There are no refunds.

WARNING: the fest does NOT COVER hospitality/accomodation/travel costs

MPORTANT: make sure you have the video downloadable on VIMEO-if selected-or have the option on FilmFreeway to make it possible for us to request the download.
If not, once you receive notification of selection, have the foresight to send us the film to screen. We do not download videos from youtube or chase anyone, materials not received within 5 days of notification or people unreachable will be automatically disqualified. It sounds arrogant to put it this way but we have ended up with screening holes every year and people who never even responded to emails.

DAGON FILMS Blu-ray Distribution

Selected filmmakers who expressly opt in during the submission process may have their short film included in the collector's Blu-ray edition "The Best of Horror Island", published and distributed by DAGON FILMS.
By accepting this option, the rights holder grants Horror Island Festival and DAGON FILMS a non-exclusive, royalty-free license solely for the inclusion of the film in this specific Blu-ray release. The filmmaker retains full ownership and all other rights to the work and remains free to distribute, license, or exploit the film elsewhere without restriction.
This license applies only to the Blu-ray edition titled "The Best of Horror Island" and does not extend to future editions or any other physical or digital releases unless a separate agreement is made.
Participation in this release is entirely voluntary and no monetary compensation will be provided. Filmmakers whose short films are included in the Blu-ray will receive one (1) complimentary copy of the release.

SCREENING REQUIREMENTS

Filmmakers must deliver final format (as indicated) for Festival screenings not over 5 days after the selections announcements. No exceptions will be permitted.
