This decision comes as a result of a venue change. While unexpected, this transition will ultimately allow us to host the event in a space that better reflects the vision and atmosphere we want to create for your work.

Most of the film fests will reject this kind of works, from 2020 we acclaim, love and respect them in our small cultural fest, crowded only by passionate and dedicated people!
The theme of the fest is EROS AND THANATOS (sex and death) so please... try to understand is not ONE or ANOTHER... is not anyway an HORROR FEST and not even a Porn fest: we like to consider the sexual part as a real plot/cinematic language (and not just a morbid or provocative element only).

ABOUT US:
He's considered the heir of Joe d'Amato, misunderstood in his home country and loved by many around the world on the underground extreme circuit: Domiziano Cristopharo is an Italian filmmaker, amongst many other things, who doesn’t shy from bringing shocking images to the screens. His work comes over with a lot of finesse and style. This is the chap behind such titles as Doll Syndrome, House of Flesh Mannequins, Red Krokodil, and many more. His muse, the actress Chiara Pavoni (Andreas Schnaas DEMONIUM, Zuccon's BAD BRAINS or VIOLENT SHIT: THE MOVIE) is considered a sexy icon of Italian cinema.

Both decided to dedicate this festival to the most mistreated side/category of underground cinema, where avant-garde, sensuality, sexuality and - why not - pornography find a place in the experimental matter of a film (or performance) where a language without limits of moralism, bigotry and conformity of the gender identity: Extreme Horror, Erotic Comedies, Arthouse, Exploitation and Porn are welcome in this fest expecially if LGBTQ themed... such an amazing night!

SCREAM QUEER Festival PARTICIPANT AGREEMENT:

1) Please, DO NOT SUBMIT movies that can be shown to standard festivals: we want EXCESS! We want give space to those that dare to DARE and in this conservative era, are banned from other fests!

2) We are against providing feedback on why we don't select submissions: it's obvious that those selected in our view are better or more appropriate to the fest and programming... this doesn't mean necessarily your work is BAD, just we receive many works every year and we need to make choices (not always easy to make!)

The participant represents and warrants that he has full legal right and authority to submit thefilm/video project for consideration by SCREAM QUEER Festival.

The participant agrees to hold SCREAM QUEER Festival and its sponsors harmless in any and all matters pertaining to the consents, licenses, and approvals of the film/video project. The participant understands that his submission is in no way a guarantee of acceptance into SCREAM QUEER Festival.

All entries selected, grant SCREAM QUEER Festival the right to use any footage from the preview screener and all submitted publicity photos and any other materials sent to us pertaining to this entry for SCREAM QUEER Festival’s promotional purposes, without limitations.

No one from SCREAM QUEER Festival or its sponsors has guaranteed the participant admission into the festival. The participant has read the terms and conditions appearing herein, and agrees, without exception, to all the terms and conditions stated:

WE ACCEPT OLD AND NEW FILMS, but not films already submitted in this fest.

Films in a language other than English must be subtitled in English.

NOTE: Only the main categories of the fest (best LGBTQ and SHORT) will receive a physical prize and only features winner are screened. We don't use DCP

SUBMISSION FORMAT:
We don’t accept physical copies.

ENTRY FEES
There are no refunds.

WARNING: the fest does NOT COVER hospitality/accomodation/travel costs

MPORTANT: make sure you have the video downloadable on VIMEO-if selected-or have the option on FilmFreeway to make it possible for us to request the download.
If not, once you receive notification of selection, have the foresight to send us the film to screen. We do not download videos from youtube or chase anyone, materials not received within 5 days of notification or people unreachable will be automatically disqualified. It sounds arrogant to put it this way but we have ended up with screening holes every year and people who never even responded to emails.

SCREENING REQUIREMENTS

Filmmakers must deliver final format (as indicated) for Festival screenings not over 5 days after the selections announcements. No exceptions will be permitted.
