Scirocco Barocco Short Film Festival is organized by a creative collective born in Modena (Italy) that strongly believes in the strength and freedom of independent film art. Our young festival wants to give space to all those filmmakers who have made their first short film, the first step to tell a story that deserves to be known.

Awards & Prizes

In its second edition, the festival will award with four prizes:
three from the special jury and one from the audience present at the awards ceremony.

In particular, the prizes will be three trophies and an agreement to co-produce the winning filmmaker's second feature.

Rules & Terms

1) The festival is only open to short film (directorial debut) of every cinematic genre

2)The short film must have a maximum length of 15 minutes

3)The short film must have been made in the last three years (from 2020)

4)Non-Italian language works must have English subtitles

5)The selected shorts will be announced in early September

6)The selected works will be screened during the final two-day event scheduled in Modena on Friday 16 and Saturday 17 September - at the headquarters of the Euphonia association - with screenings, evening shows and one final in which the most deserving works will be awarded.
