School Experience Festival

School Experience Festival is organized by Ente Autonomo Giffoni Experience, within the National Cinema plan for schools (promoted by MI and MIC).

WHAT IS the School Experience Festival?
School Experience is an itinerant festival aimed at raising awareness and training students through the use of the cinematographic and audiovisual language.

The aim of the Festival is to offer an engaging experience, aimed at informing and training a non-specialist audience on the professions in the industry of film and on audiovisual productions. School Experience Festival is an extremely important project for the school Universe: all the "actors" involved will develop knowledge and skills in the film industry; increase their knowledge about cinema and the audiovisual productions; increase their skills in the use of technologies and on the means ​​of the cinematographic and audiovisual field; students and teachers will be actively involved, as jurors-viewers, with special meetings, workshops and in the creation of an audiovisual production, from the drafting of the subject and the screenplay to the editing.

School Experience Festival is the ideal platform to promote short films, commercials, short documentaries made by Italian schools, single students (up to twenty years old) and cultural organizations.

It is our way of saying thank you to all "the good teachers" who help children, teenagers and young adults on a daily basis encouraging them to look at the world and to develop their skills of interpretation and to tell their stories through the use of images.
It is an opportunity to bring attention to the work that takes place in the classrooms, in the oratories, in the spaces that cultural organizations are able to wrest from the indifference of society, in the rooms where the youth lock themselves up, not only to take refuge but also to connect with the world.

It is the ideal place where youth have the opportunity to develop a confrontation with their peers, to find out what school children in other cities have to say, to learn how to use the tools they have available, and to discover how they live spend and value their time.

HOW DOES the School Experience Festival COME ABOUT?
Since the beginning, the former Giffoni Film Festival, now Giffoni Experience, has always shown great interest in what the world of School could produce. The "Review of films made by children and by Italian and foreign schools" dates back to 1978. In the last 10 years Giffoni has hosted the MyGiffoni section dedicated to schools. School Experience Festival is the latest evolution of this long process with the Your Experience sections.

School Experience is an opportunity to bring into play different skills: from the use of the mother tongue to digital skills, from non-verbal communication to social and civic competences, from the spirit of initiative to cultural awareness. The film must be written, interpreted, filmed, edited, and scored.

If the world of school is invited to pay more attention to flexibility, initiatives aimed at strengthening the educational offer, project activities, enhancing skills in musical practice and culture, art and history of art, cinema, techniques and in the media production and dissemination of images and sounds, Giffoni Experience is ready to be the best stage in Italy to promote the work of the best Italian schools.

WHICH ARE THE SECTIONS OF the School Experience Festival?
1 - A section dedicated to features and shorts for children and young people made by International filmmakers.
2 - Your Experience +3: A section dedicated to domestic productions that will actively involve children from 3 to 10 years old and made by Nursery and Primary Schools or by Cultural Organizations.
3 - Your Experience +11: A section dedicated to domestic productions that will actively involve children from 11 to 13 years old and made by Secondary Schools, Cultural Organizations and individual videomakers.
4 - Your Experience +14: A section dedicated to domestic productions that will actively involve children from 14 to 20 years old and made by High Schools, Cultural Organizations and individual videomakers.

AWARDS
Every section will have an award for the best production: School Experience Festival Award.
During the first 4 stages the audience will be invited to assign to each proposed film a vote from 1 to 10. The Prize, for each section, will be assigned to the film that will get the highest average score.

In addition to the festival trophy, schools will also receive educational material.

WHO IS ELIGIBLE TO PARTICIPATE
Films produced after January 1, 2020, made by professionals, associations or schools are eligible to participate in the Competition.
Feature films, short films (max 25 '), spots (max 1'), documentaries (max 25 ') can also be entered, the duration of which should include opening and closing credits.
Any recordings of school performances or music videos will not be accepted.

HOW TO REGISTER AND UNTIL WHEN?
The registration is free online.

You can register from 12:00pm October 5 2022 to 6:00pm November 10 2022.

In order to register a film you shall need the following:
- To own all the rights for the use of the images of the youth involved on YouTube, Facebook, Instagram and other social networks;
- To upload the film on YouTube or on Vimeo with a password;
- To go on https://filmfreeway.com/ and follow the instructions to upload all the necessary information, the film and register the film in the festival.

PLEASE NOTE: The shortfilms submitted shall not be considered as registered without the Entry Form filled in correctly.

By November 15 2020, Giffoni Experience will issue the list of selected films that will be screened during the festival.

PLEASE NOTE: No further communication will be sent to the unselected participants.

IN CASE YOUR FILM IS SELECTED
The schools / productions of the selected films will need to send the following:

- By 15 November at info@schoolexperience.it a photograph of the film (jpeg, 300 dpi);
- By 15 Npvember the file of the film at info@schoolexperience.it

WILL THE WINNERS BE GRANTED HOSPITALITY?
For the sections dedicated to the films produced by the schools, each of the schools / organizations / groups or individual winners will be invited to the award ceremony of Giffoni Valle Piana with a delegation of 2 youth + a contact person.

Delegations from cities over 100 km away will receive from the festival:
- hospitality for 2 days and 2 nights

To delegations coming from cities located less than 100 km the festival will offer:
- lunch or dinner on the day of the award ceremony.

The directors of the winning films of the section dedicated to feature films and short films made by professionals will receive 2 days of hospitality at the award ceremony in Giffoni Valle Piana.

Informativa privacy
The personal data of the participants in the competition will be processed in compliance with the Code regarding the protection of personal data (Legislative Decree 196/2003) exclusively for purposes related to the School Experience Festival. At any time the participants can exercise the rights provided by the art. 7 of the aforementioned decree - namely to know which of the data supplied will be processed, to have them supplemented, modified, canceled or oppose to their use - by writing to

Please Note
By sending their work, the sender declares to be the holder of all the rights to use the work itself and that the contents thereof do not violate the laws in force and that the work does not contain defamatory content. In any case, the organization reserves the right to exclude from the competition works that have contents not suitable for the age indicated for each section or that violate the rules contained in this regulation. The admission request to the Festival implies the unconditional acceptance of this regulation. The Festival Direction can take decisions relating to issues not covered by this regulation. The Court of Salerno shall be competent For any and all controversies.

COS’E' School Experience Festival?
School Experience è un festival itinerante volto alla sensibilizzazione e formazione delle studentesse e degli studenti attraverso l’utilizzo del linguaggio cinematografico e audiovisivo.
Cinque appuntamenti su tutto il territorio nazionale:

- Terranova di Pollino/Montescaglioso
- Giffoni Valle Piana
- Cittanova
- Ceccano
- Nuoro

L’obiettivo del Festival è offrire un’esperienza coinvolgente, mirata a informare e professionalizzare un pubblico non specialistico sui mestieri del cinema e sulla produzione audiovisiva.

School Experience Festival è un progetto estremamente rilevante per il mondo della scuola: tutti gli “attori” coinvolti svilupperanno conoscenze e competenze nel settore cinematografico; accresceranno le conoscenze sul cinema e l’audiovisivo; incrementeranno le competenze nell’uso delle tecnologie e dei linguaggi propri dell’ambito cinematografico e audiovisivo; saranno coinvolti attivamente gli studenti e i docenti, come giurati-spettatori e con incontri formativi, laboratori e nella realizzazione di un prodotto audiovisivo, dalla stesura del soggetto e della sceneggiatura, fino al montaggio.
School Experience Festival è la piattaforma ideale per promuovere cortometraggi, spot, documentari brevi realizzati dalle scuole italiane, dai singoli studenti (fino ai vent’anni d’età) e dalle associazioni culturali.
È il nostro modo per dire grazie a tutti “i buoni maestri” che quotidianamente aiutano bambini, ragazzi, adolescenti e giovani adulti a guardare il mondo e a sviluppare le loro capacità di interpretazione e raccontarlo con le immagini.
È l’occasione per rendere visibile il lavoro segreto che avviene nelle aule, negli oratori, negli spazi che le associazioni culturali riescono a strappare all’indifferenza della società, nelle camere dove i ragazzi si rinchiudono, non solo per isolarsi e rifugiarsi ma anche per connettersi con il mondo.
È il luogo ideale nel quale sviluppare un confronto con i propri coetanei, scoprire cosa raccontano i ragazzi delle scuole di altre città, cosa riescono a fare con gli strumenti che hanno a disposizione, come vivono l’impegno e valorizzano il loro tempo.

COME NASCE School Experience Festival?
Fin dall’inizio della sua storia il Giffoni Film Festival prima e Giffoni Experience poi ha sempre dimostrato un grande interesse per quello che il mondo della scuola riusciva a produrre. Risale al 1978 la “Rassegna di film realizzati da ragazzi e da istituti scolastici italiani e stranieri”. Negli ultimi 10 anni Giffoni ha ospitato la sezione MyGiffoni dedicata alle scuole. School Experience Festival è l’ultima evoluzione di questo lungo processo con le sezioni Your Experience.

School Experience è un’opportunità per mettere in gioco diverse competenze: dall’uso della lingua madre alle competenze digitali, dalla comunicazione non verbale alle competenze sociali e civiche, dallo spirito d’iniziativa alla consapevolezza culturale. Il film va scritto, interpretato, girato, montato, musicato.

Se la scuola viene invitata ad una maggiore attenzione verso flessibilità, iniziative di potenziamento dell’offerta formativa, attività progettuali, valorizzazione e potenziamento delle competenze nella pratica e nella cultura musicali, nell’arte e nella storia dell’arte, nel cinema, nelle tecniche e nei media di produzione e di diffusione delle immagini e dei suoni, Giffoni Experience è pronto ad essere il miglior palcoscenico d’Italia per promuovere l’operato dei migliori istituti scolastici italiani.

QUALI SONO LE SEZIONI DI School Experience Festival?
1 Sezione di lungometraggi e cortometraggi realizzati da professionisti italiani e stranieri e destinati ad un pubblico di bambini e ragazzi.
2 Your Experience +3: Sezione riservata a produzioni nazionali che coinvolgano in maniera attiva studenti dai 3 ai 10 anni e che siano state realizzate da Scuole dell’Infanzia, Primarie o Associazioni Culturali.
3 Your Experience +11: Sezione riservata a produzioni nazionali che coinvolgano in maniera attiva studenti dagli 11 ai 13 anni e che siano state realizzate da Scuole Secondarie di I grado o Associazioni Culturali, singoli videomaker.
4 Your Experience +14: Sezione riservata a produzioni nazionali che coinvolgano in maniera attiva studenti dai 14 ai 20 anni e che siano state realizzate da Scuole Secondarie di II grado a Associazioni Culturali, singoli videomaker.

PREMI
Per ciascuna sezione verrà assegnato il premio:
- School Experience Festival Award. Nel corso delle prime 4 tappe il pubblico sarà invitato ad assegnare a ciascun film proposto un voto da 1 a 10. Il Premio, per ciascuna sezione, sarà assegnato al film che otterrà la media di punteggio più alta.

Le scuole, oltre al trofeo del festival, riceveranno anche materiale didattico.

CHI PUÒ PARTECIPARE
Possono partecipare al Concorso film prodotti dopo il 1 gennaio 2020, realizzati da professionisti, da associazioni o da Istituti Scolastici.

Possono essere iscritti lungometraggi, cortometraggi (max 25’), spot (max 1’), documentari (max 25’) la cui durata dovrà comprendere titoli di testa e di coda.
Non verranno accettate le registrazioni degli spettacoli scolastici o i video musicali.

COME ISCRIVERSI E FINO A QUANDO?
L’iscrizione è gratuita e online.

Ci si potrà iscrivere dalle 12:00 del 5 Ottobre 2022 fino alle 18:00 del 10 Novembre 2022.

Per iscrivere un film bisogna:

- essere in possesso di tutte le liberatorie per l’uso delle immagini dei ragazzi su YouTube, Facebook, Instagram e altri social;

- caricare il film su YouTube o Vimeo con password;

- andare sul sito https://filmfreeway.com/SchoolExperienceFestival e seguire le istruzioni per caricare le informazioni, il film e iscriverlo al festival.

N.B. Non si riterranno iscritti i cortometraggi senza l’avvenuta ricezione dell’Entry Form compilata correttamente in tutti i campi.

Entro il 15 Novembre 2022, Giffoni Experience Festival pubblicherà l’elenco dei film selezionati che saranno proposti durante il festival.

N.B. Non verrà inviata alcuna ulteriore comunicazione ai partecipanti non selezionati.

COSA FARE IN CASO DI SELEZIONE.
Le scuole/produzioni dei film selezionati dovranno far pervenire:
- Entro il 16 novembre all’indirizzo mail info@schoolexperience.it una fotografia del film (formato jpeg, a risoluzione 300 dpi);
- Entro il 16 Novembre il file del film per la proiezione all’indirizzo info@schoolexperience.it

I VINCITORI VERRANNO OSPITATI?
Per le sezioni dedicate ai film prodotti dalle scuole ciascuna delle scuole/associazioni/gruppi o singoli vincitori sarà invitata alla Premiazione di Giffoni Valle Piana una delegazione di 2 ragazzi + accompagnatore referente.

Alle delegazioni provenienti da città situate a oltre 100 km il festival offrirà:
- ospitalità per 2 giorni e 2 notti

Alle delegazioni provenienti da città situate a meno di 100 km il festival offrirà:
- pranzo o la cena del giorno della premiazione.

Per la sezione dedicata ai lungometraggi e cortometraggi realizzati da professionisti in occasione della premiazione a Giffoni Valle Piana saranno offerti 2 giorni di ospitalità ai registi dei film vincitori.

Informativa privacy
I dati personali dei partecipanti al concorso saranno trattati nel rispetto del Codice in materia di protezione dei dati personali (D. Lgs. 196/2003) esclusivamente per finalità inerenti al concorso School Experience Festival. In ogni momento i partecipanti potranno esercitare i diritti previsti dall’art. 7 del decreto citato – e cioè conoscere quali dei dati forniti saranno trattati, farli integrare, modificare, cancellare o opporsi al loro utilizzo – scrivendo a Responsabile Privacy ℅ Giffoni Experience, Cittadella del Cinema, Via Aldo Moro 4, 84095 Giffoni Valle Piana (Sa).

Il mittente inviando l’opera, dichiara di essere titolare di tutti i diritti di utilizzazione dell’opera stessa e che i contenuti della stessa non violano le leggi vigenti e che l’opera non presenta contenuti a carattere diffamatorio. In ogni caso l’organizzazione si riserva il diritto di escludere dal concorso opere che abbiamo contenuti non idonei all’età indicata per ciascuna sezione o che violino le normative presenti in questo regolamento. La richiesta d’ammissione al Festival implica l’accettazione incondizionata del presente regolamento. La Direzione del Festival può prendere decisioni relative a questioni non previste dal presente regolamento. Per ogni eventuale controversia è competente il Foro di Salerno.
