El Festival Santiago Wild 2025 cuenta con siete categorías postulables en diferentes metrajes.

Considerando la duración total del archivo, los metrajes son los siguientes
- Cortometraje: 08:00 a 24:59 minutos
- Largometraje: 25:00 a 90:00 minutos
- Pulsos de la Tierra: 03:00 a 7:59 minutos
- Exploradores digitales: 01:00 a 2:59 minutos
A continuación revisa la descripción de cada categoría:
● Planeta en crisis / MEDIO AMBIENTE
Explora temas y problemáticas ambientales además de promover esfuerzos de activismo. Estas películas cuentan historias investigativas y hacen llamados a la acción.
Elegibilidad: El impacto del humano sobre el medioambiente debe ser el foco principal de la producción. Considera reportajes periodísticos y activismo que incluya campañas de impacto.
Largometrajes y cortometrajes.
● Relatos de naturaleza / HISTORIA NATURAL
Narrativas que muestran la belleza, el comportamiento y la interconexión de la vida silvestre. Una ventana al mundo natural que destaca especies particulares, ecosistemas o momentos de descubrimiento.
Elegibilidad: La historia natural, los ecosistemas y/o el comportamiento animal debe ser el foco principal de la producción.
Largometrajes y cortometrajes.
● Guardianes en acción / CONSERVACIÓN
Historias sobre proyectos de conservación, investigaciones y colaboraciones entre comunidades y organizaciones. Relatos alentadores que infunden esperanza e inspiran acción.
Elegibilidad: Las iniciativas de conservación, ya sea investigación, proyectos de ONGs y soluciones frente a los desafíos medioambientales son el foco principal de esta categoría.
Largometrajes y cortometrajes.
● Pulsos de la Tierra / MICROMETRAJES
Historias de naturaleza, conservación, medioambiente y comunidades contadas en formatos de corta duración. Destacan por su creatividad, intimidad y reflexiones en torno a experiencias de la naturaleza, relación con el entorno medioambiental y ecosistemas.
Elegibilidad: Aspecto horizontal. Debe contar una historia y/o mostrar relación con la naturaleza, iniciativa por el medioambiente, la conservación o historia natural. Ser producido principalmente a cámara. Puede incluir recursos visuales digitales o que no superen en 10% el contenido de la pieza.
Micrometraje: 03:00 a 07:59 minutos
● Mirada Salvaje / NUEVAS NARRATIVAS
Estas películas traspasan los límites de la narración tradicional sobre la naturaleza. Pueden ser de ficción, presentar técnicas cinematográficas innovadoras, digitales y perspectivas nuevas o narrativas innovadoras que inspiran y desafían al público a ver el mundo natural con una propuesta distintiva.
Metraje: 03:00 a 60:00 minutos
● Exploradores Digitales / REDES SOCIALES
Videos breves y compartibles de menos de 3 minutos, optimizados para redes sociales como Instagram, TikTok o YouTube, que a menudo utilizan tendencias, humor o formatos narrativos virales.
Elegibilidad: La postulación debe ser diseñada específicamente para un formato acorde a plataformas como Instagram, TikTok o YouTube (4:5 o 9:16). Debe contar una historia y/o mostrar un aspecto de la naturaleza que dé cuenta de una narrativa. Está producido mayoritariamente a cámara. Puede incluir recursos digitales que no superen el 15% la producción. Un registro o captura no es considerado elegible No se considerarán fragmentos o extractos de otras producciones mayores.
Micrometraje: 01:00 a 02:59 minutos
● Nuevas voces de Latinoamérica / TALENTO EMERGENTE
Categoría que premia nuevas voces y relatos de cineastas emergentes de Latinoamérica. Destaca la creatividad y el potencial de los cineastas de la región. Las temáticas pueden abordar naturaleza, medio ambiente, ciencia, deporte y conservación.
Elegibilidad: Ser primera o segunda obra del director, productor o representante autorizado de la obra. Se premia al postulante. Considera proyectos académicos de título. Puede haber sido financiado por fondos.
Largometrajes y cortometrajes.
● Puma de los Andes / PREMIO DEL JURADO
El Puma de los Andes es el máximo galardón otorgado por el jurado a la mejor película del festival. Este reconocimiento celebra obras que representan las causas de la naturaleza con integridad, destacan por su mensaje poderoso, su excelencia técnica y artística, y por haber sido realizadas mediante una producción responsable, consciente y sostenible.

● Planet en Crisis / ENVIRONMENT
Explores environmental issues such as climate change, pollution and promotes activist efforts. These films often portrait investigative stories and call to action.
Eligibility: Human impact on the environment should be the main focus of the production. Consider journalistic reporting and activism that includes impact campaigns.
Feature film and short film.
● Stories of nature / NATURAL HISTORY
Narratives that showcase the beauty, behaviour and interconnectedness of wildlife. A window into the natural world that highlights specific species, ecosystems or moments of discovery.
Eligibility: Natural history, ecosystems and/or animal behaviour should be the main focus of the production.
Feature film and short film.
● Guardians in Action / CONSERVATION
Inspiring stories of conservation projects, groundbreaking research, and collaborations between communities and organizations. These films offer hope through innovative solutions and showcase the determination to protect our planet.
Eligibility: Conservation initiatives, whether research, NGO projects and solutions to environmental challenges are the main focus of this category.
Feature film and short film.
● Earth's Pulses / MICRO SHORT FILM
Short -format that capture the essence of nature, conservation and environment. These films stand out for their creativity, intimate storytelling and t thoughtful reflections on our relationship with the natural world.
Eligibility: Horizontal aspect. Must tell a story and/or show a connection to nature, environmental, conservation or natural history initiative. Be produced primarily on camera. May include digital visual resources or not exceed 10% of the content of the piece.
Footage: 03:00 to 07:59 minutes
● Wild Gaze / NEW NARRATIVES
Films that break the mold of traditional nature storytelling. With bold cinematic techniques, fresh perspectives, and innovative narratives, these films challenge audiences to see the natural world through a completely new lens.
Running time: 03:00 to 60:00 minutes
● Digital Explorers / SOCIAL MEDIA
Bite-sized shareable videos under 3 minutes, crafted for platforms like Instagram, TikTok or YouTube. Playful, engaging and tapping into trends or humor. These stories are designed to go viral.
Eligibility: The entry must be specifically designed for a format suitable for platforms such as Instagram, TikTok or YouTube (4:5 or 9:16). It must tell a story and/or show an aspect of nature that tells a narrative. It is mostly produced on camera. May include digital resources that do not exceed 15% of the production. A record or capture is not considered eligible Fragments or excerpts from other major productions will not be considered.
Micro short film: 01:00 to 02:59 minutes
● New Latinamerican Voices / EMERGING TALENT LATAM
A platform for emerging filmmakers from Latin America. Celebrating fresh perspectives and creative storytelling. Themes range from nature and science to conservation and sports, highlighting the talent and potential of the region.
Eligibility: To be the first or second work of the director, producer or authorised representative of the work. The applicant is awarded. It considers academic degree projects. May have been financed by funds.
Feature film and short film.
● Puma of the Andes/ JURY AWARD
Puma of the Andes is the highest award given by the jury to the best film of the festival. This recognition celebrates works that represent the causes of nature with integrity, stand out for their powerful message, their technical and artistic excellence, and for having been made through responsible, conscious and sustainable production.

Reglas y términos
- Los participantes tienen para postular desde el 10 enero hasta las 23:59 del domingo 16 de marzo de 2025 y los finalistas serán anunciados durante el mes de abril 2025.
- Las películas pueden tener patrocinios de marcas, sin embargo, el uso de marcas debe mantenerse lo mínimo posible en la producción. No serán consideradas las producciones que se centren en una marca en particular con fines de promoción de esta.
- Fee: Las postulaciones a la competencia del festival implican un costo asociado que puede variar entre 15 a 40 usd. El pago debe ser efectuado a través de tarjeta de crédito.
- Para aquellas películas que posean idioma extranjero o lenguas originarias se solicitan subtítulos o doblaje en español.
- La producción debe haber sido completada a partir del 1 de enero de 2021.
- Se puede postular a más de una categoría.
- Las películas deben ser originales y de autoría del postulante.
- Los seleccionados deberán entregar una copia del material en un estándar mínimo de Full HD en codec h264 y máximo 4K codec ProRes para ser exhibida en el evento.
- A los finalistas se les pedirá material adicional de las producciones, tales como fotografías promocionales, póster, headshot, trailer y material audiovisual para redes sociales y el catálogo de la web.
- Al postular, se aceptan los términos definidos por Santiago Wild para la transmisión del contenido durante los días que dura el festival y el Tour posterior al Festival..
- La participación en el concurso implica la aceptación de todas y cada una de las Bases del mismo. La organización se reserva la facultad de resolver cualquier contingencia no prevista en las Bases.

Rules and terms
- Participants have to apply from 10 January until 23:59 (GMT-3) on Sunday 16 March 2025 and the finalists will be announced during April 2025.
- Films may have brand sponsorships. However, the use of brand names should be kept to a minimum in the production. Productions that focus on a particular brand for promotional purposes will not be considered.
- Fee: Applications to the festival competition involve an associated fee that can vary from 15 to 40 usd. Payment must be made by credit card.
- For films with foreign or native language subtitles or dubbing in Spanish are required.
- The production must have been completed on or after January 1, 2021.
- You can apply for more than one category.
- Films must be original and authored by the applicant.
- Those selected must submit a copy of the material in a minimum standard of Full HD in h264 codec and maximum 4K ProRes codec to be screened at the event.
- Finalists will be asked for additional material of the productions, such as promotional photographs, poster, headshot, trailer and audiovisual material for social media and the web catalogue.
- By applying, you accept the terms defined by Santiago Wild for the transmission of the content during the days of the festival and the Post-Festival Tour.
- Participation in the competition implies the acceptance of each and every one of its terms and conditions. The organisation reserves the right to resolve any contingency not foreseen in the Rules.

Las películas que harán su estreno en el festival serán consideradas para una función especial a discreción del equipo de producción, a modo de potenciar su difusión y darle mayor alcance tanto a la película como al evento.

Premieres
Films making their premiere at the festival will be considered for a special screening at the discretion of the production team, in order to enhance their exposure and give the film and the event a wider reach.

Derechos
Al participar en el concurso, el concursante declara y garantiza que: el participante otorga a Santiago Wild los derechos para exhibir la película durante el Festival y en el Tour presencial, así como el derecho de promocionar la película en o a través de todos los formatos conocidos actualmente en Internet y medios de comunicación.
Para poder participar, el participante debe poseer todos los derechos, títulos e intereses, incluyendo los derechos de autor y todos los derechos de propiedad intelectual, en y para la película que sería presentada en el Festival.
El contenido y realización de cada documental es de exclusiva responsabilidad de sus creadores. El Festival Santiago Wild y sus colaboradores no se hacen cargo de las opiniones, acciones o aspectos legales de las producciones postuladas y seleccionadas para el certamen.

Rights
By entering the competition, the entrant represents and warrants that: the entrant grants Santiago Wild the rights to screen the film during the Festival and on the Live Tour, as well as the right to promote the film in or through all currently known Internet and media formats.
In order to participate, the entrant must own all rights, title and interest, including copyright and all intellectual property rights, in and to the film that would be presented at the Festival.
The content and production of each documentary is the sole responsibility of its creators. The Santiago Wild Festival and its collaborators are not responsible for the opinions, actions or legal aspects of the productions submitted and selected for the competition.

Santiago Wild Tour
Santiago Wild Tour es una extensión del festival, una instancia itinerante que recorre ciudades y pueblos fuera de la capital y que llevan las películas del festival a donde muchas veces no se tienen acceso a este tipo de contenidos.
Al postular al festival Santiago Wild se aceptan los términos definidos para la transmisión del contenido durante el Tour SW25 a lo largo de Chile.

Santiago Wild Tour
Santiago Wild Tour is an extension of the festival, an itinerant event that tours cities and towns outside the capital, taking the festival's films to places where there is often no access to this type of content.
By applying to the Santiago Wild festival you accept the terms defined for the transmission of the content during the SW25 Tour throughout Chile.
