Eligibility: Films of any genre are welcome—a good movie is a good movie! But in order to create a cohesive program, we will prioritize films that include some sort of Halloween element. While there is no hard limit on run time, in order to showcase a wide variety of films we would prefer submissions under 10 minutes in length.

Submission Format: Films must be submitted digitally; physical media submissions will not be accepted. If selected, a downloadable copy of the film will be required.

Ownership and Rights: By submitting a film, the filmmaker(s) affirm that they have obtained all necessary rights and permissions for the film's content, including but not limited to music, images, and actors' performances.

Selection Process: Submissions will be reviewed by a selection committee appointed by Good Vibe Cinema and Noble House Media.

Screening: Selected films will be screened at the Halloween Film Festival on October 31, 2026, at Cinema Under the Stars in San Diego, CA.

Filmmaker Attendance: Filmmakers of selected films are encouraged to attend the festival. Each selected filmmaker will receive two complimentary tickets to the event.

Promotion: By submitting a film, the filmmaker(s) grant permission for excerpts of the film to be used for promotional purposes related to the festival.

Rights Reserved: Good Vibe Cinema and Noble House Media reserve the right to disqualify any film that violates the rules or terms of the festival or for any other reason deemed necessary by the organizers.

Agreement: Submitting a film to the Halloween Film Festival implies acceptance of these rules and terms.

Inquiries: For any questions or concerns regarding film submissions, please contact info@noblehouse.media

Changes: Good Vibe Cinema and Noble House Media reserve the right to make changes to the rules and terms of the festival if necessary. Any changes will be communicated promptly to all participants.

Thank you for considering submitting your film to the Halloween Film Festival! We look forward to celebrating the spooky season with you.

As a local San Diego Horror filmmaker, I was blown away by what Cassidy and Vic put together here. Absolutely no pretense, just a fun Halloween party with short spooky films. It's legit more party than festival - and it's perfect just like that.
The films screened were super unique and fun, with just the right amount of campiness ("Elevated Camp" was a term coined by a new friend I met that night).
So far, it's my favorite of the festivals I've gotten into. I'll definitely be submitting next year.

As far as star ratings, overall it's a 5 star event for sure. I gave a 3 star for the Networking category only because it's such a small, local event. And as such, you're not going to meet producers or anyone that will advance your career. But that's ultimately what this event is for. And that's ok.
It was nice to talk to a couple of the filmmakers that did show up though.

Me and my girlfriend dressed up, made some new friends, and got to watch some fun indie Horror shorts. It was a perfect Halloween night. Definitely attending again!

    Response from festival:

Thank you so much for this amazing review! Hearing that San Diego Halloween Film Fest felt like a “perfect Halloween night” means the world to us.

Our goal has always been to create a space that celebrates creativity, connection, and the spirit of indie horror (with a little extra fun thrown in)! We’re so grateful for filmmakers like you who bring such originality and heart to the screen, and to the party.

You’re absolutely right, we’re still a small but mighty fest, and as we grow, we’re putting more focus on expanding the networking opportunities for filmmakers, like filmmaker meetups, industry guest mixers, and collaborative panels to help connect creators with potential partners, producers, and festival peers.

Thank you again for being part of this year’s lineup and community. We can’t wait to see what you create next. We’d be thrilled to have you back next year!
