Sonny Newman is an American Filmmaker based in Los Angeles, CA. Raised in a family of classical musicians and film composers, they developed an early interest in Old Hollywood, cartoons, and animation which blossomed into an Ahab-esque monomaniacal obsession with cinema.

Their work is distinguished by its formal playfulness, off-kilter humor, and dedication to uniquely cinematic experiences. Frequent motifs include fluidity, time, memory, and consciousness.

In addition to producing numerous award winning short films, they have worked as a writer, director, editor, cinematographer, creative consultant, and composer.
