The SVN Visual Media Awards™ is School Video News eMagazine's celebration of high school Broadcast Journalism and TV Production departments and their outstanding students. At its conclusion, we honor winning shows, stand-alone packages, on-air talent and crew with front page stories, school profiles, sponsor-donated prizes and of course, trophies.

Submit entries for a Morning News/Announcements show | Investigative Report | Interview format | Sports | Weather | News Magazine with a single host | Single package (such as a school event, etc).

In addition, Recognition of Excellence awards will go out to schools with outstanding teaching programs and curriculum.

Where possible, award(s) will be made at your school.

Awards & Prizes

- An Award for one of the following: 1) SVN VMA™ Best News Program; 2) SVN VMA™ Outstanding Achievement: Interview | Short Form | Sports | Weather | News Magazine | Talent and On-Air Performance and other categories as appropriate for finalists.

- A profile on the school's TV Production Department in School Video News, including a link to the school's Vimeo or YouTube channel (if available).

- Where possible, a critique of the submission by an industry expert or peer judge.

- Inclusion in our SVN VMA™ YouTube Award Announcement.

- Outstanding Achievement award for the school.

Rules & Terms

- The competition is for high schools / career tech schools grades 9-12;

- The submitter must be directly involved (teacher, advisor, principal) with the project or legally authorized to represent the project submitted;

- All commercial/private property including all trademark, copyrighted materials shown or recorded on the project is the responsibility of the submitter. School Video News will NOT take responsibility for any infringement of copy-written materials;

- All submissions must be submitted via FilmFreeway. We DO NOT accept physical submissions (DVD, Blu-Ray, printed scripts etc);

- Award categories are decided at the discretion of School Video News and may be subject to change;

- All reviews and decisions are final;

- We do not accept pornographic material;

- We do watch your submission in its entirety.
