The San Jose Film Collective is dedicated to showcasing the rich tapestry of Bay Area talent through our biannual showcases held in San Jose, CA. We provide a vital platform for local filmmakers to present their work, while also fostering networking opportunities that build connections within the industry. Our events celebrate and elevate the diverse voices of our community, reinforcing our commitment to amplifying Bay Area talent and creativity.

Awards & Prizes

The "Best Picture" award will be determined by an industry professional juror, who will score each short film during our showcase. This prestigious title recognizes the film that exemplifies the highest level of craftsmanship and storytelling, accompanied by a film-related prize and special recognition as the standout achievement of the evening.

Rules & Terms

Originality: Submissions must be 100% original work and free from any copyright infringement. All content should be created specifically for the film, with appropriate permissions for any third-party material used.

Content Policy: Submissions must not contain hate speech, discrimination, or offensive material. We are committed to showcasing films that respect and celebrate diversity.

Film Length: Each submitted film must have a total runtime of 10 minutes or less.

Local Filmmaker Requirement: Films must be created by a majority of filmmakers based in the Bay Area. This includes directors, writers, producers, and other key production roles.

Event Representation: A representative from the film's production team must be able to attend the showcase in San Jose, CA.

Submission Deadline: Films must be submitted by the final due date as posted on our submission page.
