Our festival is looking for ground-breaking indie films by under-represented Queer storytellers. Unlike the older LGBTQIA+ film festivals, we do not adhere to the status quo and offer an alternate platform for out-of-the-box thinkers and content creators. We do not disqualify films based on premiere status or date of completion. We select films on merit and not based on the names attached to the project. This festival is created by filmmakers for filmmakers.

CERTIFICATION
I have read and agree to the festival submission and participation requirements and certify that I am authorized to submit this film/video to SF Queer Film Festival. And that I own all the rights to this film/video. By submitting your work, you grant SF Queer Film Festival a non-exclusive license to use an excerpt of your submission of up to two minutes in length, for promotional purposes, only if selected.

Rules & Terms

1. Film must be directed by LGBTQI+ individual(s).
2. Subject matter should be related to the LGBTQI+ community.
3. Films streaming on VOD platforms and Youtube/Vimeo are NOT eligible.

Screeners received a week before the event date will not be accepted and your film will be disqualified.

    I had an amazing time participating in the festival this year with my film Sister Wives! The team were lovely and made the whole process really easy and stress-free. Their communication was great, and it was clear they’re passionate about supporting filmmakers. The festival featured a great mix of films, showcasing diverse voices and genres. You could tell the organisers put a lot of thought into curating the lineup. They really cares about filmmakers, and I highly recommend it. Can't wait to submit again! Louisa Connolly-Burnham x

    A mighty and growing festival! We are so honored that "Under the Influencer" was awarded Best Feature at the 2024 SF Queer Film Festival. Amir, Kevin, and Liz were absolutely lovely hosts; they made all filmmakers and screening attendees feel valued, welcomed, and appreciated. Our DCP screened beautifully at Landmark's Opera Plaza Cinema, which has a great lobby with refreshments. Opening and closing parties at The Lookout were intimate and joyous--we actually made real connections with the other filmmakers in attendance. A great festival that actually cares about its indie filmmakers; we can't wait to see how the festival continues to grow and expand its reach.
