The Asociación Cultural Sad Hill convenes, as a parallel section and outside the official dates of the Certamen de cine Corto de Salas Infantes (Burgos), the SECCIÓN WESTERN (VII Edition) short film competition.

The idea of this section is to pay tribute to the western and publicize the new trends of a genre that is still alive and relevant today.

Awards:
- Best Western Short Film Award (250 euros + trophy) for that work that meets the characteristics with which the American Film Institute defined the western: “a genre of films set in the American West (19th century and early 20th century) that embody the spirit, struggle and fall of the new frontier. Brimming with subtext and mythology, it offers iconic images of a time past, and possibly a time that never happened.”
- Forastero Award (250 euros + trophy) for that work that, without being exactly what the American Film Institute defined as a western, travels in a novel and/or disruptive way, reinventing its codes.
