About the festival
The festival is being organised by Rushes Film Society.The Rushes National Film Festival brings together film professionals, scholars, and rising filmmakers to inspire and guide students passionate about the art of filmmaking.Over its six successful editions, the Rushes National Film Festival has consistently offered a platform for industry professionals to engage with the university’s talented students and building meaningful connections with the future filmmakers.The festival offers a unique opportunity to explore, appreciate, and promote film culture in Bengaluru.

Date&Venue
The 6th edition of RNFF will be held on January 30th and January 31st, 2025 in Bangalore, India

Festival Programmes
It will feature film screenings in both competitive and non-competitive categories, along with engaging workshops, masterclasses, and panel discussions.

Cash Prizes - Only for films under competition category.

1st Prize 10,000 INR
2nd Prize 5,000 INR
3rd Prize 3,000 INR

Special prize (Best regional short film made in Kannada language) cash prize of 3,000 INR

Rules & Regulations

1.Quality: 720p or above
2. Duration: Entries should not exceed 20 minutes (including titles and credits)
3.Only films completed on or after January 2024 are eligible for the festival. The films must be uploaded no later than 15th January, 2025.
4.The competition category is only for students from India. Students ID must be mailed to rushesfilmsociety@gmail.com
5.If the film is not in English, it must include hardcoded English subtitles.
6.The short film must not include any copyrighted material owned by third parties unless:
The participants have obtained a license to use such material in the film.
The film features found footage that is not copyrighted.
7.Once submitted, the entries cannot be withdrawn for any reason whatsoever.
8.Films submitted in the non-competition category are considered for screenings only and are not part of the competition.
9.Ensure to provide the poster of the short film.
10.All submissions will be reviewed and evaluated by the RNFF Selection Committee, and their decisions are final and confidential.
11.Entries that do not comply with the rules and regulations will be rejected.

Only two members from the team submitting the entry will be considered the ‘Participants’. All communications from our side will be addressed to them exclusively.

    It was fun to be around a big group of fellow cinephiles. Definitely enjoyed the vibe of the college and the film festival. Was a little disappointed they didn't tell us beforehand that not all the short films will be projected in the main auditorium.
