Rose Sutton is a Los Angeles/New York-based mixed media artist focusing on directing, editing, and photography.
Rose recently earned a BFA in Film & Television from NYU Tisch School Of The Arts, where enhanced her skills--continuing to shoot, direct, and edit both experimental and narrative-based film shorts, with music as a leading force.
Born in Los Angeles to parents of Syrian & Jewish ancestry, Rose moved around various schools and homes following her parents divorce, where she was exposed to dynamic environments with unique, multi-faceted perspectives. Much of her childhood and young adulthood has informed her expansive approach to storytelling and collaborative communication style as a director.
Unenthused by traditional storytelling methods, Rose's style of experimentation focuses on establishing deep emotions often derived by thought-provoking, striking visuals. She has an innate passion for tying together numerous story threads in her short film work, with music as a supplemental force.
Her film, "Color My Grey Street" currently under festival distribution-- it is her biggest passion project thus far, and the most personal piece she's written to date. She is now working on her NYU Thesis film, "The Music Coma" set to complete next year.
Aside from directing, Rose enjoys producing and on-set BTS photography. She recently produced an advanced senior thesis, “Forgive Me Jaanu”, and worked with Bryan Lee to produce his films, "Love Locked" and "Empathy Man" which were selected into numerous festivals. Last summer she helped produce, "The Terrestrial" a psychological horror short currently in post-production.
