INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL & SCREENPLAY CONTEST

Welcome to the Roscommon International Film Festival, a thrilling celebration of cinematic talent in front of and behind the camera.

Based in the breathtaking heartlands of Roscommon, Ireland, this event - now in its second year - sets the stage for emerging filmmakers and screenwriters to showcase their creativity on a global platform.

Open to submissions from all corners of the world, our contest welcomes short and feature-length films as well as screenplays of diverse genres, be it drama, thriller, comedy, horror, or any captivating narrative that captures the imagination. Our primary goal is to discover and promote exceptional talent, searching for those hidden gems that possess the power to captivate audiences and leave an indelible mark on the world of cinema.

Every submission to our contest is highly valued. As a testament to our dedication to nurturing talent, our panel of judges will provide valuable feedback on each entry, offering constructive insights and guidance to help refine their skills and craft.

With an unwavering commitment to supporting Irish talent, we have reserved a special category for entries originating from the Emerald Isle. We believe in the richness of Irish storytelling and are passionate about providing a platform for local creatives to shine brightly among their global peers.

Selected films will have the opportunity to be screened at the Roscommon Arts Centre on 5 October 2024. Trophies will be awarded across eight categories and feedback is provided on every entry received. Selected screenwriters will be offered mentoring and production opportunities. As a testament to their outstanding achievements, winners will be honored with prestigious trophies and laurels, symbolising their excellence in film-making and screenwriting.

This contest marks the continuation of an extraordinary journey. Building upon its initial success, we are delighted to be hosting a physical film festival in 2024, fostering a vibrant atmosphere for networking, collaboration, and the celebration of cinematic artistry.
