Double O Roos (R.E. van der Jagt) is a Dutch filmmaker, director, and new media artist working at the intersection of cinema and artificial intelligence. With over two decades of experience in visual media, she has developed a multidisciplinary practice spanning film, digital art, and immersive environments, grounded in a strong sense of visual authorship and cinematic control.

Her work is defined by precision, restraint, and the construction of cohesive visual worlds. She explores themes of perception, identity, and moral perspective, often examining the relationship between observation, control, and human agency. Rather than treating AI as a novelty, Roos integrates it as a core part of her directing process—developing structured workflows that maintain visual continuity, character integrity, and narrative clarity.

Her films have been screened at international festivals including the International Film Festival Rotterdam (IFFR), the Cannes Short Film Corner, and the Hollywood Reel Independent Film Festival. Works such as In Memoriam Hotel Central, The Core, and Held Without Consent reflect her evolving use of AI as a cinematic language.

Roos is the founder of Double O Roos and the Earth Rising Foundation, where she develops new formats for AI-driven storytelling and supports emerging creators in the field. She is currently focused on expanding her work into episodic and long-form productions, bridging independent filmmaking with scalable, technology-driven production models.
