Bitesize Short Film Festival returns to Riverside Studios, London for its second edition, following an inaugural year that received over 1,500 submissions from filmmakers worldwide.

Hosted at the iconic Riverside Studios in Hammersmith, the festival brings together filmmakers and audiences for three days of screenings, networking, and celebration of the short film form.

Filmmakers will have the opportunity to:
• Screen their work in a respected London arts venue
• Meet fellow filmmakers and industry professionals
• Attend festival networking events and celebrations
• Compete for festival awards judged by an industry panel

Festival Experience
Selected filmmakers will be invited to attend the festival and take part in:

Bitesize champions story-driven short films with strong ideas, craft, and personality.
We are particularly interested in films that demonstrate bold storytelling and a distinctive creative voice.

What We’re Looking For

We are primarily seeking narrative short films under 20 minutes.
We welcome submissions across genres including:

• Drama
• Comedy
• Thriller
• Animation

Films should demonstrate clear storytelling, strong direction, and a distinctive voice.

Selected films will compete for the following awards:

🏆 Best Short Film – Grand Jury Prize
🏆 Storytelling Award
🏆 Visionary Award
🏆 Cinematography
🏆 Best Animation
🏆 Director

Additional awards may be presented by the festival jury.

Winning films will receive official festival laurels and recognition across Bitesize and Riverside Studios’ platforms.

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

Completion Requirement: Films must be fully completed before submission.

Films must have a runtime of under 20 minutes.

We primarily focus on narrative-driven films and may not be the best fit for purely experimental or fine art work.

Submission Format: Films must be submitted via FilmFreeway.

Quality Standards: Submissions must meet minimum quality requirements. Films with a resolution below 720p or poor audio quality will not be considered.

Language Requirements: Non-English films must include English subtitles.

Premiere Status: we do accept world premieres.

Promotional Use: The festival may use portions of your film (including trailers, teasers, stills, or posters) for promotional purposes.

Rights & Ownership: You must own the rights to your film to submit.

Event Schedule: Festival dates and times may be subject to change.
