RestFest Film Festival is an all-virtual international film festival screening short films & video art by and for folks who identify as Disabled, d/Deaf, chronically ill, neurodivergent, mentally ill, and/or mad.

All are welcome to attend, but the essence of this festival is that it is made to be by us and for us. Our goal is not to educate the non-Disabled, but rather create a space where we can celebrate our creative voices and build community.

The films screened do not have to be about disability or illness. RestFest Film Festival invites free creative expression by all who are Disabled, d/Deaf, chronically ill, neurodivergent, mentally ill, and/or mad.

Our festival is entirely virtual at this point to maximize accessibility. However, we care deeply about this being a chance to build community, and are planning many opportunities to do so in this virtual space.

At least one director, screenwriter, cinematographer, and/or producer of your film must identify as Disabled, d/Deaf, chronically ill, neurodivergent, mentally ill, and/or mad.

Short films (30 min or less) and video art are invited to be submitted. If you feel your work fits outside of these categories and you would like to submit, please reach out.

Films do NOT have to be about Disability or illness, but they can be. However, we are not interested in Super Crip narratives.

Submission fees are optional donations to help us make the festival happen. To opt out of this donation, please use code “RFF24SUBMISSION” at checkout. The use of this fee waiver will not impact the judging process.
