"Reisendes Freiluftkino" (traveling outdoor cinema) is a six day festival for short and feature films on dealing with a new theme every year.

The festival with its more than 700 visitors takes place in a multicultural neighborhood with 70+ actively spoken languages. Each day the festival travels to a different public space within the Bremen district of Gröpelingen which is situated next to the former shipyard at the river Weser.

2023´s theme "In the Middle" aims to show productions which are concerning the following topics:

The films submitted should take a look at geographical and cultural phenomena between center, edge and exclusion in order to highlight what is common and what separates communities of language, life and work in superdiversified neighborhoods:

Who and what is seemingly in the middle of society? And: How is it possible to look away from the middle and beyond?

One feature film (2.000 Euro) and one shortfilm (1.000 Euro) will be awarded.

Submitted films should have an English or German transcript of dialogues. Radio headsets for live translation will be handed out to the audience.

Children 10 and older will be in the audience along with their parents, so the films submitted should not contain scenes that are disturbing to children.

One of the smoothest experiences in working with the festivals all through these years. So glad that our film, ASTEORID, was selected and awarded over there.
