The Red Fashion Film Festival is a unique collaboration between Andre Rowe Designs and AIDS Health Foundation (AHF) Jamaica. This speciality film festival encourages filmmakers to submit short narrative films centred on issues surrounding HIV/AIDS.

It is an exclusive event with numerous elements, which will be moderated, programmed (AHF guided) and have incorporated specific mandates about World AIDS Day 2019 and AHF.

As a result, each film should positively portray or convey a message related to HIV/AIDS awareness, discrimination and prevention.

The Red Fashion Film Festival is an extraordinary event which includes:
• Live screening
• Fashion Shows
• Social Panel discussions
• Fashion parties
Although that's to name a few elements of this unique film festival.

The Festival presents additional opportunities for filmmakers to interact with international and local celebrities and have one on one interactions with the audience post-screening.

The Red Fashion Film Festival will also be hosting a symposium for all entrants. This symposium will provide a workshop based opportunity for filmmakers to be guided along the lines of the subject matter as well as receive as much information on HIV/AIDS to assist them in developing their content. It is highly recommended that all entrants attend the symposium. Points will be awarded to attendees.

All films must be produced in Jamaica.

Films must have been shot within a timeframe not exceeding one year of the time of this posting.

All film submissions must adhere to an aspect ratio of no less than 16:9/1920X1080 resolution. Films submitted in higher resolutions are welcome. Please ensure that the clips are not out of focus, (unless it is necessary for establishing a creative aesthetic), is overall pleasing to look at, and most importantly does not have elements/motion that reveals to the audience that the camera exists.

Actor performances must be convincing. Based on the nature of the theme, it is imperative that actors convey the necessary emotions required to also encourage viewers to be emotionally involved with the film.

Pay keen attention to how well the film is paced and how it flows. For example Action films are directed at a fast pace, dramatic films go at a slower pace. Ensure that the film's direction coincides with the genre in which it is produced.

The final edit of your film should be neat and seamless. Once more your final edit relies heavily on the flow of how your scenes are cut and pieced together.

The audio component of your submission encompasses several aspects:
Dialogue, Foley/natural, Effects, Scoring, Soundtrack. Clear audio is quite important for all films especially with respect to Dialog. The judging panel must be able to hear the actors clearly. Eliminate all hissing sounds/popping/noise/etc... which will distract from the dialogue.

We are quite keen on films which present us with compelling stories. Content Must be PG-13 or suitable for all viewers over the age of 13 years. The overall theme of the contest seeks stories which present HIV/AIDS Awareness, Prevention, Treatment, Discrimination and other HIV/AIDS-related topics which may appeal to the filmmaker. Content MUST reflect research and MUST be scientifically accurate. If misconception or cultural misinformation is shared for artistic value, these must be equally clarified in some way.

Final cut of the film should not exceed 20 minutes (inclusive of film credits).
