Born in Manchester and then later brought up on a farm in Lancashire, I always loved being part of drama performances at school. Drama gave me confidence and I totally embraced the freedom and creativity to perform, collaborate and devise.

I then undertook an acting course at Drama Studio London and for the next 14 years worked as an actress in theatre, film and television.

After having my children I re assessed my career. Directing was very much at the forefront of my mind. Having a young family to support I had to look at ways of earning money, whilst getting experience within the film and TV industry from the other side of the camera.

I applied for Assistant Directing work to gain more knowledge on the floor and the opportunity to shadow directors.
For the last 7 years I've worked throughout the AD department in Film and High End TV as a 3rd AD and 1st AD.

Credits include Bridgerton for Netflix, Slow Horses For Apple TV, The Girl Before for HBO, His Dark Materials for BBC, The Great and Andor season 2.

Within the last year, I've stepped away from full time AD work. My short Wake has won a number of awards in festivals and I’m working on a number of exciting directing projects.

I absolutely love my job, my experience as an actress allows me a natural connection to actors and my AD background brings a wealth of knowledge to my work.
