GLOBAL SECTION:
Feature films, with a maximum duration of 120 minutes, produced, made or set in Mexico or Cuba from October 2019 to June 2021, are admitted to the international section.
The works will be presented in their original format, or in a format agreed with the film's authors or producers, with subtitles in Italian. The number of works admitted to the competition will be defined by the selection committee and the artistic direction and may change according to the programming needs and in line with the Festival project.
The central theme of the international section is "Cultures and Cinematographic Narrations", understood as the ability to tell and show elements of culture (artistic, literary, social and political) and the territory of the two countries object of the international focus of the first edition: Mexico and Cuba
LOCAL SECTION:
Will be admitted short films, with a maximum duration of 20 minutes, produced, made or set in Romagna (Emilia-Romagna, Italy) from October 2019 to June 2021 are admitted to the section.
The works will be presented in original format, or in a format agreed with the film's authors or producers, with subtitles in Italian. The number of works admitted to the competition will be defined by the selection committee and the artistic direction and may change according to programming needs and in line with the Festival project.
The central theme of the short films section is “Culture and Narrations of Romagna”, intended as the ability to tell and show elements of culture (artistic, literary, social and political) and the territory of the Romagna macro-region.
HOW TO REGISTER:
1. Registration of feature films will take place through the platform www.filmfreeway.com/ravennacinefestival, which can also be accessed from the official website of the festival, www.ravennacinefestival.com.
For the candidacy of each film the following materials are required:
- Movie (.mov (h264) format with a file no larger than 4GB
- Synopsis of the film (.doc, rtf or pdf format)
- Biography of the director (.doc, rtf or pdf format).
2. For the registration of the films, a fee of 3 (three) euros is required for the "early submission" (deadline 31 May 2021) and 5 euros for the "regular submission" (deadline 31 July 2021).
3. The registration of a film implies the acceptance of this regulation. For issues not covered by the regulation, the final decision rests solely with the organization of the Festival, in the figures of the artistic director and the organizational director.
4. All materials must arrive no later than July 31, 2021.
5. Acceptance of the regulations authorizes the Ravenna CineFestival to use the films selected in the international section, in any other activity directly organized or sponsored by the Festival itself, even outside the dates of the Festival.
ADMISSION TO THE COMPETITION:
The Artistic Direction will inform, by e-mail, the participating candidates of the official entry into competition of the films from 15 August to 15 September 2021.
After receiving this communication, the following material must be sent, with absolute priority, by e-mail or file-transfer to the address direzione@ravennacinefestival.com:
- File for film screening (.mov or -mp4 format)
- Subtitles in Italian in .srt format, if available
- Subtitles in English, or, if available, a list of dialogues in English
- Synopsis of the film (.doc, rtf or pdf format)
- Biography of the director (.doc, rtf or pdf formats)
- Photos of the film and photos of the director (technical details will be communicated during the official selection phase)
- Awards and participation in any others
