Hailing from a small, industrial town in Northern India called Kanpur, Rahul grew up with his grandparents, until finally moving to Bombay to live with his mother when he turned eleven. He paid close attention to family relationships and developed a childlike curiosity to look at the world and some of his influences include Akira Kurosawa, Satyajit Ray, François Truffaut and Majid Majidi.
His first short Story of a Lonely Goldfish (2015) received nominations at several film festivals including Torrecinos Film Festival 2017 and Children’s Film Festival Seattle 2016.
Rahul decided to pursue MA Filmmaking at The London Film School to nourish his skills further and Une Paire de Jumelles is his graduation film.
