REEL FEST is an international celebration of independent spirit, raw creativity, and do-it-yourself filmmaking. Hosted by King Theodore Records, this annual film festival shines a spotlight on micro-budget films from around the world—projects made with passion, ingenuity, and a shoestring budget.

We believe great filmmaking doesn't require the most up-to-date equipment or corporate funding. It takes a passion for your craft, belief in yourself as a storyteller, and the determination to get it done. REEL FEST is a platform for filmmakers who say "yes" to themselves and their vision, showcasing work that pushes creative boundaries and proves that compelling cinema can come from anywhere.

What to Expect at REEL FEST:
- A curated selection of micro-budget films
- A DIY spirit that extends from the programming to the presentation
- An authentic, community-driven atmosphere rooted in artistic integrity and passion for the art of filmmaking

  • What a fantastic festival! I made the trip out to Columbia to attend and I'm so glad I did -- great people, a great film selection, and a true down-to-earth DIY vibe. It was also an extra treat to get to take home a beautiful handmade (!!) award for my film "Ghost Light."

REEL FEST was an absolute blast & truly one of those festivals that reminds you why you make films in the first place. Our short film Blood Rail had the honor of playing there - and even winning the “Reelest Film” award- which made the experience that much more special. Th festival definitely embraces the DIY spirit. It was amazing to see our film play with so many other great films. If you’re a filmmaker looking for a fun film festival that celebrates unique, offbeat films - REEL FEST is absolutely worth it. With that said, a huge thanks to Jesse & the team for having us and for creating something that feels so authentic.

I didn’t get to attend in person but from following along on social media, this festival looks like a great time. The festival organizers and the folks from the festival venue have been absolutely incredible from beginning to end. Friendly, communicative and super supportive of filmmakers who may not fit into the typical pockets of cinema but possess the same levels of passion for their art. Highly recommended!!!
