The Pueblo Film Festival invites filmmakers from around the world to share powerful stories and creative visions on the big screen. Whether your work is narrative, documentary, experimental, animated, hilarious, haunting, or wonderfully weird—we want to see it.

Set in the culturally vibrant city of Pueblo, Colorado—known for its rich history, arts community, and legendary fire-roasted green chilies—the festival brings filmmakers and audiences together for an exciting celebration of cinema.

The Pueblo Film Festival welcomes submissions from filmmakers around the world for its Fall 2026 festival in Pueblo, Colorado (location TBD). The festival celebrates bold storytelling, creative vision, and films that inspire conversation, community, and artistic expression.

Films of all genres and styles are welcome, including narrative, documentary, experimental, animation, and hybrid forms. Short films should be under 40 minutes, and feature films 40 minutes or longer. Films in languages other than English must include English subtitles. Multiple entries are allowed, but each film must be submitted separately through FilmFreeway with the appropriate entry fee.

The festival’s top honor, The Steely, will be awarded to outstanding films in the following categories: Best Narrative Feature, Best Narrative Short, Best Documentary Feature, Best Documentary Short, Best Environmental Film, Best Experimental Film, and the Trustee Award, a special recognition selected by festival leadership.

Selected films will also compete for additional jury award plaques recognizing excellence in filmmaking craft, including Best Director, Best Actor, Best Cinematography, Best Original Script, and Best Original Soundtrack.

Additional plaques may be awarded to recognize exceptional films across genres and themes including Drama, Fantasy/Sci-Fi/Horror, Comedy, Action/Adventure, Culture/History, Social Justice/Truth Teller, LGBTQ+, Women-Focused, and Environmental storytelling.

By submitting a film, the entrant confirms they have the legal rights to all content within the film and grants the Pueblo Film Festival permission to use film stills, trailers, and brief excerpts for promotional purposes related to the festival. Submission fees are non-refundable. The Pueblo Film Festival reserves the right to determine final programming, screening schedules, and award category adjustments as necessary.
