PROCESO DE ERROR is a non-competitive international festival focused on experimental video. Since 2014, it has taken place in Valparaíso, Chile, with screenings held in cinemas, museums, cultural venues, on a boat over the sea, and in various international locations.
Organized by INVE, Experimental Arts Platform — a creative, horizontal space grounded in mutual support — the festival embodies a collaborative spirit. Its aim is to bring these types of works closer to the general public, as well as to creators, thinkers, and enthusiasts of cinema and expanded arts.
We are committed to fostering connections around experimental cinema and its critical reflection within global sociopolitical contexts. The festival is a space of encounter, presenting both single-channel and expanded cinema pieces, as well as offering free workshops and talks (with prior registration).
During the week leading up to the festival, we host LAB PDE, a creative residency whose works premiere during the official days of the event.
PROCESO DE ERROR is an invitation to make, watch, and reflect on cinema and its infinite manifestations — all within a safe space grounded in mutual care and shared critical thought.
OPEN CALL 2025
We are looking for works that explore experimentation in image and sound, with both formal and thematic coherence. The duration of the works can be from 2 minutes to 90 minutes. We accept submissions in the following formats:

Festival dates: December 11–14, 2025, as always in the city of Valparaíso.
After the festival, selected works will be available online for one week.

Feature films and short films in experimental documentary, video art, video performance, video dance, archival material, found footage, collage, digitized film, VR, and AI.
*Breaking the Return: Chilean Video Artists
Works by Chilean creators in formats including experimental documentary, video art, video performance, archival footage, collage, digitized film, VR, and AI.
*Non-Binary Manifestation: New Technologies and Artificial Intelligence
Short films in VR or created using AI that push the boundaries of perception and identity.
*Affections of a Circular History: Experimental Cinema and Political Memory
Feature and short films addressing how state repression affects the body and generates social frustration.
*Other Sections
Additional screenings will include premieres from the LAB PDE residency and works developed through workshops held throughout the year.
CONDITIONS
-Selected works will receive a screening fee.
-We are unable to cover travel costs, but we can provide letters of selection to support funding applications.
-Final selection will be made by our curatorial team.

PROCESO DE ERROR es un festival internacional no competitivo enfocado en el video experimental. Desde 2014 se realiza en Valparaíso, Chile, con exhibiciones que han tenido lugar en salas de cine, museos, espacios culturales, una barcaza sobre el mar, y también en el extranjero.
Organizado por INVE, Plataforma Experimental de Artes, un espacio creativo, horizontal y con dinámicas de apoyo mutuo que transmite al evento su espíritu colaborativo, el festival tiene como objetivo acercar este tipo de obras al público en general, así como a lxs creadorxs, pensadorxs y entusiastas del cine y las artes expandidas.
Nos interesa generar vínculos en torno al cine experimental y sus formas de pensarse en el contexto sociopolítico mundial. Este festival es un espacio de encuentro que exhibe piezas de cine monocanal y expandido, además de ofrecer talleres y conversatorios gratuitos con inscripción previa.
Durante la semana anterior al festival realizamos LAB PDE, una residencia de creación cuyas obras se estrenan durante los días oficiales del evento.
PROCESO DE ERROR es una invitación a hacer, ver y reflexionar en torno al cine y sus infinitas manifestaciones, en un entorno seguro, de cuidado mutuo y pensamiento crítico compartido.
CONVOCATORIA 2025
Buscamos trabajos que exploren la experimentación en la imagen y el sonido, y que posean coherencia tanto temática como formal. La duración de las obras puede ser de 2 minutos a 90 minutos. Recibimos obras que se inscriban en los siguientes formatos:

Cortometrajes desarrollados en VR o con inteligencia artificial que expandan los límites de la percepción y la identidad.
Afecciones de una Historia Circular: Cine Experimental y Memorias Políticas
Largometrajes y cortometrajes que aborden cómo las prácticas represivas de los estados afectan al cuerpo y generan frustración social.
Otros focos
Además, se presentarán muestras relacionadas con los estrenos del LAB PDE y los talleres realizados durante el año.
CONDICIONES
Las obras seleccionadas recibirán un fee de exhibición.
No contamos con recursos para cubrir pasajes, pero podemos extender cartas de selección para apoyar la postulación a fondos externos.
La selección final estará a cargo de nuestr@s curador@s.
