CONDITIONS OF PARTICIPATION
PROJECTS( WORK IN PROGRESS) AND PORTFOLIOS/REELS (NO FILMS)
ANNOUNCEMENT
Prime the Animation! New Talent International Festival is a not-for-profit cultural event organised by the Universitat Politècnica de València, and coordinated by the research group Animación UPV, in collaboration with students, schools, professionals and Valencian institutions.
The festival presents its animation projects (in progress) and portfolios/reels contest for students or new talents, without any distinction of country of origin. The event will be held from October 18 to 31, 2021.
The registration dates for short films will be open from April 1, 2021 until 11:59 p.m. on July 5, 2021.
WHO CAN PARTICIPATE?
Participation is open to one of the following categories:
_Projects (working progress): Students or graduates (graduated in the last three years), specialized in any of the different profiles of animation who present a short film, video clip, documentary or animation series project.
_Portfolios/reels: Students or graduates (graduated in the last three years), specialized in any of the different profiles of animation.
CONDITIONS OF REGISTRATION
Participation in Prime the Animation! New Talent International Festival implies full acceptance of these conditions. In addition, the commitment of truthfulness of the participants about their answers in the registration forms of their projects or portfolios/reels.
The registration of projects (in progress) or portfolios/reels must be done through the FilmFreeway platform: (https://filmfreeway.com/PrimeTheAnimationProjectsandPortfolios), attaching the following data and material requested for each modality:
3.1. Projects (in progress)
In addition to complete the FilmFreeway form, you must attach a bible (pdf or link) that compiles all the documentation of the project:
-Name and surname.
-E-mail address and phone number.
-If you are an animation student, please, indicate the name of your school, degree and course of study.
-If you are a professional, please, indicate your activity or professional role, if you are self-employed or an employed person.
-Highlights of CV author/s (maximum 200 words).
-Links where we can see more of your work.
-Introduction of the project (title and representative image of the project, format, target audience...).
-Synopsis (summary story).
-Project treatment (detailed description of the story).
-Project concept (graphic and musical treatment, atmosphere, references and moodboards...).
-Author’s statement / Director's intention (origin of the project, objectives)
-Description of the development of the project: current and next phases, objectives, potencial commitments (in this case, mention the name of the producer).
-Storyboard (complete or partial).
-Link to the animatic (with sound) if available.
-Graphic materials available: backgrounds/sets, model sheets, models, graphic research materials, references (high quality).
-Style frames from 4 to 6.
-Texts must be written in Spanish or English.
3.2. Portfolios/reels
In addition to the FilmFreeway form, you must attach your portfolio (pdf or link) or reel (mp4/h264 or link):
*Link to the portfolio (10 to 20 images with your most significant pieces (specifying if they are linked to any project). Make sure the link works.
*Link to the reel (up to 2 minutes). Make sure the link works.
In case of doubt write to: pta_submissions@upv.es specifying in the subject if the registration is for projects or portfolios.
COMMUNICATION OF THE SELECTION
The projects and portfolios/reels selected in Prime the Animation! New Talent International Festival, will be published on the festival's website during the month of September 2021: http://primetheanimation.upv.es
The organization of the festival will communicate by email and/or through the FilmFreeway platform to all participants the result of the selection at least fifteen days in advance.
In no case will presence be required to be selected or awarded at the festival.
CELEBRATION OF THE EVENT
Prime the Animation! New Talent International Festival will take place from October 18th to 31st, 2021, in a mixed format, face-to-face and Online:
-The Faculty of Fine Arts at the Universitat Politècnica de València
-La Filmoteca - Institut Valencià de Cultura
-Headquarters of partner institutions

PROYECTOS (EN PROCESO Y PORTFOLIOS/REELS (NO FILM)
CONVOCATORIA
Prime the Animation! New Talent International Festival es un evento cultural sin ánimo de lucro organizado por el grupo de investigación Animación UPV (Universitat Politècnica de València), que cuenta con la colaboración de estudiantes, escuelas de animación, profesionales e instituciones valencianas.
Prime the Animation! New Talent International Festival presenta su competición de proyectos y portfolios/reel de animación realizados por estudiantes y nuevos talentos, sin distinción del país de origen.
El evento, organizado por la Universitat Politècnica de València, se celebrará del 18 al 31 de octubre de 2021.
La fecha de inscripción de proyectos y portfolios/reel para esta edición estará abierta desde el 1 de abril de 2021, hasta las 23:59 horas del día 5 de julio de 2021.
¿QUIÉN PUEDE PARTICIPAR?
Se podrá participar en una de las siguientes categorías:
_Proyectos (en proceso): de Estudiantes o egresados, titulados en los últimos tres años, especializados en cualquiera de los diferentes perfiles de la animación que presenten proyecto de cortos, videoclip, documental o serie de animación.
_Portfolios/reels: de estudiantes o egresados, titulados en los últimos tres años, especializados en cualquiera de los diferentes perfiles de la animación.
CONDICIONES DE INSCRIPCIÓN
La participación en Prime the Animation! New Talent International Festival, implica la aceptación íntegra de estas bases. Además, del compromiso de veracidad de los participantes sobre sus respuestas en los formularios de inscripción de sus proyectos o porfolios/reel.
La inscripción de portfolios/ reels y proyectos deberá realizarse mediante la plataforma FilmFreeway: (https://FilmFreeway.com/PrimeTheAnimationProjectsandPortfolios), adjuntándo los datos y el material que se solicita para cada una de las modalidades:
3.1. Modalidad proyecto
Además de rellenar los datos de la ficha en FilmFreeway debes adjuntar una biblia (pdf o enlace online) que recopile toda la documentación del proyecto:
-Nombre y apellidos
-Correo electrónico y teléfono de contacto
-Si eres estudiante de animación, indica el nombre de tu escuela y los estudios o grado que cursas
-Si eres profesional, indica la actividad o especialidad que desarrollas
e indica si trabajas por cuenta propia o ajena y el nombre de la empresa
-Datos destacados de CV autor/es (máximo 200 palabras)
-Links donde poder ver más de tu trabajo.
-Introducción del proyecto (título e imagen representativa del proyecto, formato, público destinatario...)
-Sinopsis (resumen de la historia)
-Tratamiento del proyecto (descripción detallada de la historia)
-Concepto de proyecto (tratamiento gráfico y musical, atmósfera, referencias y moodboards...)
-Resumen de intención del autor/director (origen del proyecto, objetivos)
-Descripción de la evolución del proyecto: fase actual y próximas fases, objetivos, posibles compromisos contraídos (en este caso, mencionar el nombre del productor).
-Storyboard (completo o parcial)
-Enlace al animatic (con sonido) si se tiene.
-Materiales gráficos disponibles: fondos/conjuntos, hojas modelo, modelos, materiales de investigación gráfica, referencias, etc. En buena calidad.
-Style frames de 4 a 6
-Los textos deben de estar en castellano o inglés.
3:2. Modalidad portfolio/reel
Además de rellenar los datos de la ficha de FilmFreeway debes adjuntar tu portfolio (pdf o enlace online) o reel (mp4/h264 o enlace online):
*Enlace al portfolio (de 10 a 20 imágenes con tus piezas más significativas y especifica si se vinculan con proyectos). Verifica que el enlace sea accesible.
*Enlace a la Reel (hasta 2 minutos). Verifica que el enlace sea accesible.
En caso de duda escribir a: pta_submissions@upv.es especificando en el asunto si la inscripción es a proyectos (en proceso) o portfolios.
COMUNICACIÓN DE LA SELECCIÓN
Los proyectos y porfolios/reel seleccionados en Prime the Animation! New Talent International Festival 9, serán publicados en la página web del festival durante el mes de septiembre de 2021: http://primetheanimation.upv.es
La organización del festival comunicará por email y/o a través de la plataforma FilmFreeway a todos los participantes el resultado de la selección con un mínimo de quince días de antelación.
En ningún caso se exigirá la presencia para ser seleccionados o premiados en el festival.
CELEBRACIÓN DEL EVENTO
Prime the Animation! New Talent International Festival, tendrá lugar del 18 al 31 de octubre de 2021 en un formato mixto, Presencial y On-line:
-La Facultat de Belles Arts de la Universitat Politècnica de València
-La Filmoteca - Institut Valencià de Cultura
-Sedes colaboradoras
-Plataforma online: web festival
AWARDS
Prime the Animation! will award the following prizes:
*Best Project Award: Consulting session with Mr. Cohl
*Best Portfolio/Reel Award: Personal profile on the Drawfolio platform (1 year)
The Festival Management will appoint the members of the Jury, which will be formed by animation experts of recognized experience.
All awards will be presented during the Closing Ceremony to be held on Saturday, October 30, 2021.
PREMIOS
Prime the Animation! concederá los siguientes galardones:
*Premio al mejor proyecto (en proceso): Sesión de asesoramiento con Mr. Cohl
*Premio al mejor portfolio/reel: Perfil personal en la plataforma Drawfolio (1 año)
La Dirección del Festival designará a los miembros del Jurado que estará formado por expertos en animación de reconocida experiencia.
Todos los premios serán entregados en el transcurso de la Gala de Clausura que se celebrará el sábado 30 de octubre de 2021.
