The mission of PIFF is to present quality films from around the world as well as support, recognize and honor indie filmmakers.

With an aim to become an internationally recognized festival that provides a space for filmmakers to believe in their content without worrying about commercial exploits, the Prime International Film Festival remains committed to its mission to discover and develop independent artists and audiences across the globe.

Through its programs, the festival seeks to discover, support, and inspire independent filmmakers across the globe to introduce audiences to their new work. PIFF is not only a platform for showcasing films and networking but will also serve as a travel city from all over the world to cherish the beauty of Mumbai. Slated to be happening in September 2021, the PIFF is normally a full-fledged two-day Film Festival showcasing not only excellent films and contemporary film-making skills with Features, Shorts, Documentaries, Mobile Films, Music Videos, and Web Series but will also give a platform to new and budding filmmakers to showcase their talent. However, due to the COVID – 19 pandemic crisis, instead of canceling the festival or going online like others, we are doing a shorter and two-day version of the Festival.

The festival hopes to be a dedicated contributor to the cultural arts, economy, and education, through a highly effective strategic partnership model. It will see people of various communities thronging the venue to enjoy films from countries like the USA, UK, Australia, Malaysia, Singapore, China, Belgium, Spain, Italy, Russia, Bangladesh, Iran, Poland, and many others in English and the country’s own languages. Indian regional language films like Bengali, Hindi, Rajasthani, Marathi, Bhojpuri, and south Indian languages including Malayalam, Tamil, Telegu, and Kanada will be showcased.

PIFF also plans to introduce unique programs not only during its 2-day period but will also have year-round programming through fellowships and workshops to keep the spirit of film making alive.

The momentum has caught on and filmmakers have already started making plans to be there at the festival and make it a grand success. The PIFF strives to:
• Grow a movement to exhibit and expand the art of filmmaking.
• Find and acknowledge innovative storytelling.
• Give short film an identity differentiating it from the classical big screen and modern transmedia platforms.
• Cultivate the careers of film directors, producers, and screenwriters working in the short indie film sector.
• Increase diversity and collaboration in film productions as well as connect local filmmakers and industry professionals.
• To acknowledge and give a platform to new budding directors, students, screenwriters to show their talent through new films on all kinds of subjects and genres.
