PDSFF26- THE URGE
Positively Different Short Film Festival is a vibrant, expanding space of cinematographic exploration, exchange and learning from the stories of others. As PDSFF enters its 7th year, we remain dedicated to nurturing a space where the personal is political and vice versa. Τogether we dream of a world that is worth fighting for.
We shed light on our multiple realities, be they more visible or in the shadows, and we thrive on connection. More than anything, across our social positions and diverse identities, we are connected by a feeling of urgency, this mixture of anger, fear and hope that is both unique to every individual but also common to a lot of us. We desire to act, to stand up against all that is wrong in the world, to stop this looming threat of spreading fascism, ecological collapse and growing authoritarianism.
The time is now; the question is how.
In PDSFF26- THE URGE, we come together to find the answers and work together with everyone who shares our concerns, making space for all different strategies and kinds of action. Believing in the power of cinema, we use it as the foundation of the relationships we build among us.
The countdown has begun; let’s find our ways out together.
—-----------------------
We invite filmmakers, documentarists, visual content creators, students and emerging artists to submit their short films. We are particularly interested in the topic of intersectionality; in the stories of characters, communities and individuals that, due to their identities and life-experiences, remain unseen.
Our team and audience are charmed by aesthetic coherence as much as they are excited by simplicity. Shorts that reflect bold visions and personal urgency are, essentially, what we are after! Share your shorts with us! We eagerly await them, and look forward to meeting you in the cinema for 4 days of screenings, discussions, and parallel events.
