PTFF ISLAND & PENINSULA SHORT SCREENPLAY COMPETITION

Port Townsend Film Festival has been called “Sundance by the sea” for outstanding programming, legendary hospitality, and strong support for filmmakers. Situated in a charming yet sophisticated Victorian village two hours from Seattle, PTFF is a destination festival.

Highlighting our commitment to making Port Townsend a place where filmmakers are nurtured, thrive, and grow, in 2024 we’re launching our first ever short screenplay competition.

Winning script will receive full production by a team of experienced filmmakers and inclusion in the Port Townsend Film Festival, September 19-22, 2024.

Winning screenwriter will receive:

> Full production of the script by a team of regional filmmakers (including members of Port Townsend Film Festival, Jefferson County FIlmmakers Collective, and Port Townsend Film Studio)
> Inclusion in the Port Townsend Film Festival line up, Sept 19-22, 2024
> Full ownership of the finished film (with inclusion of PTFF in the film credits)
> Support and mentorship on how to submit the film to other festivals
> Inclusion in ongoing support from PTFF as an “Alumni Filmmaker”

Eligibility:
Open to screenwriters residing in the Olympic Peninsula, Kitsap Peninsula, and Puget Sound Islands. Writer must be a resident of one of the following Washington State counties: Clallam, Grays Harbor, Island, Jefferson, Kitsap, Mason, San Juan. The story must also take place in these regions.

Script Requirements:
> 5 pages / 5 minute script
> Must utilize standard screenplay format
> No more than 5 locations
> No more than 5 characters
