- The submitter holds relevant copyrights for the submitted film and agrees to screen the film at The Perth Horror Film Festival should it be selected for the program.
- The submitter understands that submitting a film does not guarantee entry into the festival program and that no refunds will be issued for submission fees for films not selected for the program.
- The submitter agrees that if the film is selected for the Perth Horror Film Festival program, they will provide a screening copy on DCP for features OR High Quality MP4 for short films and arrange for KDMs (if required) and shipping of materials to Western Australia by the agreed festival materials deadline. If the Perth Horror Film Festival incurs any screening materials-related charges, these costs will be charged back to the submitter.
- Short films will only be accepted as high quality MP4 files for all screening requirements, and if the Perth Horror Film Festival incurs any screening materials-related charges; these costs will be charged back to the submitter.
- The Perth Horror Film Festival only accepts submissions electronically, utilising online screeners. This allows your film to be seen by the whole programming team and thus increases its chances of being selected. Please provide the password on your application, where necessary.
- All short films must be under 25 minutes.
- All Feature films must be either completely or partially made in Western Australia.
- You can submit as many films as you like.
- We do not accept films that have already screened during a previous edition of the Perth Horror Film Festival.
- There is no restriction on what year the film was made.
- All non-English language films must have English subtitles or be dubbed in English.
- Short Films must have an element of horror, science fiction or something that shocks and disturbs.
- Feature films must have an element of horror, this could include, but is not limited to: thriller, true crime, disaster, horror-comedy, documentary, Halloween or something which might shock or disturb the viewer.
- Films are scheduled at the discretion of the Perth Horror Film Festival. The Perth Horror Film Festival retains the right to make changes to the published schedule at any time and for any reason.
- Final decision on the award winners and films selected and included in the Perth Horror Film Festival will be at the absolute discretion of the Event Organizers.
- The Perth Horror Film Festival is hereby granted the right to utilise an excerpt from any film submitted and accepted for exhibition at the Festival for promotional purposes. The individual or corporation submitting the film hereby warrants that it is authorised to commit the film for screening, and understands and accepts these requirements and regulations. The submitter shall indemnify and hold harmless The Perth Horror Film Festival from and against any and all claims, liabilities, losses, damages, and expenses (including but not limited to attorney’s fees, and costs of the court) which may be incurred by reason of any claim involving copyright, trademark, credits, publicity, screening, and loss of or damage to the screening materials entered.
