Founded in 2011 by Dr Amin Palangi, Persian Film Festival Australia (PFFA) is an independent cultural event dedicated to presenting an uncensored and carefully curated selection of films by Iranian and Persian-speaking filmmakers from across the globe. This festival offers Australian audiences a rare and enriching opportunity to engage with captivating stories through films that might not otherwise reach Australian screens.

Awards & Prizes

A number of awards are presented during the Persian Film Festival Australia, reflecting our commitment to quality cinema. A jury of Australian filmmakers and industry professionals will select the best film in each category to receive the festival's Golden Gazelle Award.

Rules & Terms

GUIDELINES
- Films can be in any GENRE (drama, documentary, animation).
- The SHORT FILM length should not be more than 20 minutes.
- The FEATURE FILM length should be more than 70 minutes.
- One of the KEY CREATIVES (writer/director/producer) must be from a Persian-speaking background.
- All films must be SUBTITLED in English.
