Founded in 2015, the Peekskill Film Festival (PFF) screens a first-rate mix of features, shorts, documentaries, and animation. The PFF continues its mission to also give voice to those not typically featured in more mainstream festivals -- women, people of color, and the LGTBQ+ communities. In addition to screening the best and brightest in indie film, the PFF hosts workshops with Emmy-Award winning artists and filmmakers, parties, panel discussions, and an entire day dedicated to student film -- all centered in the historic Hudson Valley Paramount Theater, a beautifully restored, 1,100 seat, 1930’s jewel located in the heart of Peekskill’s arts and restaurant district.

Come for a single movie, a day, or the whole weekend. We welcome you to Peekskill, our diverse and glorious Hudson River city, a thriving arts community just under an hour from NYC.

In 2018, the PFF is pleased to showcase NY filmmakers in our "New York State of Mind" block on Saturday, July 28, where all films featured are proudly made in the Empire State.

Diverse voices from all over the world are welcome. Happy submitting!

A portion of ticket sales and all sponsorships benefit the cultural programming of the Field Library, a major information hub for the city of Peekskill.

Awards ceremony will take place at our legendary afterparty on Saturday, July 28!
Awards include:
Best Feature
Best Short

Best Student
Best Animation

Best Cinematography

The PFF does not require premiere screening rights; we also take no responsibility for stipulations of your distribution agreements or copyrights for prior television, film, internet or festival showings.

The PFF does not check for, nor take responsibility for the inclusion of uncleared materials in film submissions or selections. We are happy to return your films with a self- addressed, stamped envelope with the appropriate postage. However, the PFF is in no way liable, nor responsible, for the return of your film.

Had such a wonderful time at the Peekskill Fest. Was unfortunately only able to get out of town for one screening day but everyone couldn’t have been more welcoming! Thanks for having us! Next time I hope I can make it for the whole weekend would have loved more time to get to know the hosts and other filmmakers!

Beautiful venue. Warm and friendly staff. Loved walking around the small town and taking in all the little mom & pop establishments nearby. It was like unlocking a time capsule and finding this pristine untouched gem. Absolutely adorable, and would love to go back again!

The Peekskill film festival is a great film festival. You get to screen at an awesome movie theater in a great small town. This festival will surely grow each and every year because of the care of the very cool programmers. It is worth the entry fee, so enter!

Peekskill Film Festival was one the best experiences I've had at a film festival. They are truly a filmmaker's film festival. They had a very interesting and diverse selection of films. On their social media, they did a fantastic job highlighting all of the films they were showing. Their screening location at the Paramount Hudson Theater was fabulous. One of the greatest things, was they had an audience! Clearly, they did an excellent job marketing the festival. It was apparent that much work went into the Peekskill Film Festival l! I loved it, and was very grateful and happy to be apart of it! If you are thinking about applying don't hesitate, it was awesome!

Very cool place, very cool people, good receptive audiences, solid simple communications, and it's just incredible to show your movie in that big old movie house... Can't say enough good things about this festival...
