Jim Morrison is a filmmaker based in Greenport, Long Island. He currently works at Paramount in on air operations. He also a manger at the North Fork Arts Center in Greenport NY.
Jim studied film at The School Of Visual Arts, and has worked on various MTV productions (The State. VMA’s, etc).
Jim’s ideas and films mostly focus on characters and life based right in his hometown. Greenport is a small seaside village, which has a rich history of bootleggers from the days of prohibition. It was once the largest whaling port on the east coast, but now is more of a tourist attraction. Mainstream film and TV production has picked up tremendously in Greenport. Jim feels there is plenty of his own stories that need to be told about life in this town.
Jim directed a documentary called “Harry Hellfire”, which was selected by multiple film festivals across the country. Including it's premiere at the Hamptons Doc Fest. Jim hopes to build a body of work with films using Greenport as the background.
