I am a writer, activist, and the mother of a Black man, and I am furious. My film "Room for Dessert" explores systemic injustice and racism in America. Rather giving an answer to the problem, the film poses a question: "What if?"
Pamela Davis-Noland is a New Orleans based writer who works extensively in the theater community as a writer/producer with multiple directing credits. Her artistic/ cultural practice mainly focuses on women, bipoc in particular, and the exploration of their identity within relationships and community. Her work has been reviewed as ahead of its time and contributes this to prescience, intuition and personal experiences as a black woman. This drives her creativity to hold disparate ideas and have the ingenious ability to upend expectation and create feature narratives.
She is currently writing as well as working on the screenplay adaptation of her second literary offering, "Tuesday, Summer of ‘74' ' as well as her short film, titled, "Room for Dessert" currently in post-production.
She and her husband travel the country in their RV and live happily off the grid.
