POP NINJA is a website devoted to all things pop culture. We are pleased to announce the 2017 POPninja Horror Short Film Festival. This festival is for horror short films and horror short scripts only.
The fest will take place October 22 at the Moss Bluff branch Library in Calcasieu Parish.
We will screen as many horror shorts as we can squeeze into the three hour period. The screenings will be followed by a short awards ceremony and filmmaker Q&A.
Admission to the event is FREE and there will be FREE sodas & popcorn to enjoy while watching the films.
The winning script will be featured in a live reading by members of the Lake Area Film Group.

The 1st Place film & script will receive a trophy, certificate, and $100 cash!
The 2nd & 3rd Place films will receive a medallion and certificate.
All accepted films & scripts will receive digital laurel leaves with "Official Selection" on them to use on their websites, Facebook pages, posters, or anywhere else. The winning films & scripts will also receive a 2nd set of laurel leaves with "Winner" on them.
All accepted films will be screened before a live audience on Sunday, October 22 at the festival.

All films & scripts entered must be original work and have all rights secured by the filmmaker (or writer if it is a script. The films & scripts must have been completed within the last 2 years (on or after October 22, 2017.)
The filmmaker gives POP NINJA the rights to to use clips of the films, pics of the cast and crew, and behind the scenes video, to promote the fest on the POP NINJA website and Facebook page. If your film is selected, you will be asked to e-mail a digital press kit containing some of the following: a film poster, pics of the cast and crew, a trailer (or link to a trailer,) behind the scenes video clips, bios of cast and crew, a synopsis of the film.
