The Out Of Focus Music Video Festival showcases and celebrates music videos, animations, and shorts produced by local video artists while creating a community that connects musicians, filmmakers, visual artists and storytellers. The focus of the fest is on MUSIC + VIDEO, which includes music videos, animated shorts, and more!

Now in it's fifth year, the festival continues to support a growing community of artists, video creators, and storytellers who continue to inspire us in the #culturewar.

“The MTV-fueled glory days of the music video have long since passed, but videos remain a crucial part of any band's ascent, helping it bring its songs to life, develop its aesthetic, and demonstrate its personality. But where can you go to find new and exciting indie videos by that amazing band you haven't discovered yet?” — SFWeekly

“The night brings together a motley crew of musicians, filmmakers, visual artists, and storytellers to the New Parkway along with a bittersweet nostalgia for the golden age of MTV music videos.” — KQED

“Remember when MTV used to play music videos?” — that’s a complaint that’s been uttered a million times. Since 2011, the people behind Out of Focus TV have been trying to remedy that loss with their own indie television channel (hosted online at OutofFocus.TV), which includes original series, music videos, mini-docs, live music, comedy, and curated playlists. Finally, there is an even better form of entertainment to fill the hole in your heart where the old MTV once was. — East Bay Express
