The Oregon Short Film Festival is a seasonal event (Winter, Summer and Fall) on the Film Festival Circuit for filmmakers of all genres to showcase their creative works in the Pacific Northwest. A live screening of international independent short films, series episodes, and music videos of all genres. Oregon is known for being a fun and laid back state in the Pacific Northwest with yummy food and lots to do. Whether it’s the nature experience, the arts or the wonderful wine, craft beer and food options, if you haven’t visited at least once, perhaps it’s time you came out here! This event was founded by author and retired filmmaker Mikel Fair who worked on location in the Film and Television industry from 1999-2015. Our mission is to screen several programs of international independent short films in a "back to back" format.

  • Thanks to the Oregon Short Film Festival, Mikel Fair and Zeami Eccles-Irwin for their help in making the festival a positive experience for me in the showing and award of Jeremy's Window in the Best Relationship Film category. I especially enjoyed the casual atmosphere of the festival and the opportunity to meet other filmmakers and the exhibitors in this hallowed theatre.

  • This was a wonderful event, and we are thankful for our award as Best Animated Film. It was a joy to see other indie shorts at this cool venue in a fun Portland neighborhood. We received clear and early communication, had a well-researched interview by the assistant director for our marketing purposes, and had an opportunity to chat with other filmmakers, before and between films.

  • If I could give this festival more stars I would! TONGUE IN CHEEK, by Tai Brown won for Best Comedy Film Award and we are incredibly proud of this recognition. Oregon Short Film Festival is very professional, inclusive, amplifies Indie filmmaking and overall supportive of the arts. Every filmmaker got an opportunity to feel seen and appreciated. I was the only representative from my project that was able to attend and still was able to converse with other filmmakers and discuss our love for the craft, I didn't feel alone. Mikel and Zeami were communicative and kind. The theater that we got to screen at is so beautiful! I could go on and on, the festival is really such a special experience and I am grateful for it! I highly recommend submitting.

Mikel and his team run an excellent program with plenty of worthwhile events and meet-ups for filmmakers, both in person and remotely. They're so supportive of filmmakers, and we were thrilled to be a part of the festival even though we wound up unable to attend in person. We'll absolutely submit future works -- highly recommend!
