The Oregon Screams Horror Film Festival is a seasonal event (Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter) on the Film Festival Circuit that screens international independent Horror, Horror Comedy, Dark Drama, Experimental Horror, Dark Science Fiction, Dark Animation films, videos, screenplays, teleplays and episodic content. This event was founded by author and retired filmmaker Mikel Fair who worked on location in the Film and Television industry from 1999-2015. Multiple short films are screened in a "back to back" format in HD 1080p. The northwest USA has a great fan base for horror films as well as other dark genre content intended for a mature audience. Films that make people scream, are creepy and even those that poke fun at the Horror genre are loved by the audience. When social distancing protocols allow it, this event is a great opportunity to network with filmmakers, screenwriters, crew, actors and industry professionals.

* Please note, the "Oregon Scream Week Horror Film Festival" has been renamed the "Oregon Screams Horror Film Festival" in 2022. Same organizers, just a slight tweak. Sorry for any confusion.

The whole festival circuit organized by the always great Mikel Fair is one of the best in the US. I had a great run with my horror short film "Escalation" and having my film screened Drive-In style at the Oregon Screams festival is really a dream come true for me as a filmmaker. Kudos to the whole Oregon Screams team for also making specific videos for youtube/Instagram etc about the films screened with video reviews and judges discussing the various projects. These videos really help our visibility and give the audience something to look forward to. Don't think twice, go ahead and submit your work!

  • This was the first festival where we felt at home. Everyone was so nice and being that we were all there for the same genre, we felt comfortable being ourselves. This was a first in successful networking for us. Ample time to meet people, eat, drink and everyone gets a chance to say a few words and answer a few questions about their films. It was fun. The movies were good. The people were so nice!

  • Although I couldn't attend the festival, I really felt part of it because of the friendly and enthusiastic contact I had with the organizer, who asked me to make an intro video of myself so that I could present my film remotely. Receiving a cool picture of the drive-in screening at the time my film was shown made it an even more amazing experience. I'm very grateful that my film was selected, screened and nominated!
