Wealthy Theatre Presents:
Open Projector Night Selections of
Michigan Experimental Film
at Grand Rapids Art Museum

Open Projector Night is currently accepting submissions specifically for experimental films. We're looking for short films no longer than 10 minutes, in partnership with the Grand Rapids Art Museum.

This specific show curated by the Open Projector Night panel will be displayed at the Grand Rapids Art Museum from October 7th, 2023 - January 14th, 2024. This exhibition celebrates the varied ways in which films and filmmakers from Michigan are expanding the boundaries of the medium.

Open Projector Night is a program of Wealthy Theatre and Grand Rapids Film Society; proud programs of the Grand Rapids Community Media Center.

Notification Date: September 22nd, 2023
Opening Date: October 7th, 2023

Awards & Prizes

Each filmmaker that is accepted into this specific showcase will be awarded a paid stipend.

Rules & Terms

Submissions must conform to these guidelines:

*All work must be experimental
* No longer than 10 minutes in duration
* Film must have a connection to the state of Michigan (e.g., by content, location of filming, location of story, the film creators/crew, etc.)
* If accepted you must supply a presentation copy of your film and agree to its exhibiting at the Grand Rapids Art Musuem."
