General Rules of the Open Air Short Film Festival
1. ORGANIZATION, AIMS, DATES
The Open Air Sort Film Festival (OASFF) is organized by the team of Film professionals on voluntary basis. Its aim is to present the best films from all over the world to Belarusian and international audience, and to encourage better communication and understanding between people living in different countries and of different cultural backgrounds.
The 5th Open Air Short Film Festival will take place on the 5-6th of June 2022 in Minsk.
2. SECTIONS
The Festival program is divided into the following sections:
2.1. International Competition – for short films (under 5 minutes) from all over the world.
3. ELIGIBILITY
3.1. Only films meeting the following criteria can be presented at the Open Air Sort Film Festival:
a) films which had been completed after January 1, 2019;
b) films which have not been previously shown on the Internet;
c) films no longer than 5 minutes;
d) films which have not been previously submitted to the OASFF.
3.2. Acceptable preview formats:
– Digital file;
– Online screener.
3.3. Acceptable screening formats:
– Digital File;
– DVD.
4. SELECTION
4.1. The Festival team selects and invites the films to participate in the Festival.
4.2. Films will be accepted for selection only if submitted before the deadline as online screener with English subtitles (if the language of dialogues is not English, Russian or Belarusian) and accompanied by necessary information as listed on the festival website.
5. DEADLINE, DATES
The 1st of January 2022 – deadline for submissions of the films;
The 1st of May 2022 – selection results announced to the entrants. Festival inform only the entrants whose films were selected. If you do not receive an invitation from us by notification date, it means that your film has not been selected for the OASFF program;
The 5-6th of June 2022 – Dates of the Festival.
6. LANGUAGE VERSIONS AND SUBTITLES
6.1. All films will be screened in their original languages with Russian subtitles, except for films with dialogues in Russian or Belarusian.
7. SCREENINGS
7.1. Each film will be screened one time.
8. JURIES
8.1. The Juries are appointed by the Festival Team. The decisions of the Juries are taken by open voting with simple majority. Persons who have any connection with films presented in the competition cannot be on the Jury.
9. AWARDS
There are following awards:
– Grand Prix;
– Best Animated Film
– Best Experimental Film;
– Best Film;
– The Audience Award.
10. OTHER ISSUES
10.1. Participation in the Festival implies acceptance of the Festival regulations.
10.2. Once the invitation has been accepted, the invited film cannot be withdrawn from the Festival program.
10.3. Cases not covered by these Regulations will be considered in compliance with the International Regulations.
