My name is Omid R. Marusi,

an independent filmmaker from Mashhad, Iran. Since my teenage years, I have been passionate about storytelling — dreaming of writing screenplays and bringing my stories to life on screen. For many years, limited financial resources and lack of professional tools kept those dreams out of reach.

Everything changed when AI tools became available to creators like me. I wrote my first short film, CORPORATION, entirely in my notebook. Using only my mobile phone and simple apps, I designed images with AI and animated every scene by hand — a process that was extremely time-consuming and required great patience. I edited the film with the InShot app, voiced the main character myself, and completed every step of production alone. This film marked my official start in short filmmaking and holds a special place in my creative journey.

For the second film, CORPORATION²: Revolution of X, I again wrote the screenplay by hand and created all the visuals using the same mobile phone, employing AI to design and animate the scenes frame by frame. This time, with great effort and difficulty, I managed to purchase subscriptions to two AI platforms that significantly improved the quality and value of the production. This project was completed after three months of hard work and strong motivation.

I am deeply grateful for the unwavering support of my mother throughout this journey. Her belief and trust made this project possible.

I also want to sincerely thank my dear friend Mehdi Choupanian, who generously covered a significant portion of the film’s costs without expecting anything in return. I designed the character Salvador Rogman specifically for Mehdi so he could be part of the film. Despite many challenges, Mehdi enthusiastically and tirelessly learned all the English lines of his role beautifully and voiced the character himself. The presence of Josh Watson in this project was also a great honor and an inspiration to my filmmaking path.

For one 4-second scene, I once worked nonstop for 48 hours — sleepless and with no resources, but full of determination. Initially, I received no support. I ignored all negativity, stayed away from distractions, and focused 100% on this work. I reached out to various platforms and institutions for support — many did not respond or declined. But I kept going because I believed if I didn’t tell my story, no one else would.

I am deeply thankful to FilmFreeway and the international festival community for keeping doors open to independent filmmakers like me — those who have a voice but no means to be heard. In every frame I made, I tried to turn my limitations into a guiding light — a beacon for those still in the dark.

CORPORATION²: Revolution of X is not just a short film — it holds a piece of my soul. Through this project, I share my voice with those who remain unseen.

I made both films in Mashhad, Iran — specifically in the Khajeh Rabi' neighborhood, Mehr-e-Madar 29 Street. These two films are my own productions, created in Iran with minimal resources but with a strong, unwavering determination.
