The mission of the festival is designed as a platform for talented artists to be recognized for their projects and more importantly, get them the industry exposure to help sustain their craft.

We are accepting short films and trailers, as well as scripts for short films and feature screenplays for the Nov. 4, 2023, film festival that will be held at the Venice Island Performing Arts Center in the Manayunk section of Philadelphia.

In addition to the film festival and workshops for both writers and actors, the Nov. 4 event will feature music, food, a silent auction and more on picturesque Venice Island.

Finalists will be notified by Oct. 1, 2023. Winners will be announced on Nov. 4 at the Venice Island Performing Arts Center.

All non-English speaking films must be presented in their original version with English subtitles.
Short Film Entries should not exceed 25 minutes.
Feature scripts must be 90 - 120 pages.
Short scripts may not exceed 20 pages.
Films must have been completed in 2020 or later.
Online screenings may be requested anytime by the official selections and the award winners.
Scripts must be an unproduced work.
Submissions do not contain obscene material including content of sexual or pornographic nature, gore, or graphic violence.
All entrants who have not earned more than $25,000 in a staff writing position are eligible.
Philly Filmmakers must be living in the 5-county Philadelphia area (Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery, and Philadelphia counties).
