We are the only blue planet. We are the only planet with oceans. But if we do not protect them, we will lose them forever, and our planet will never be the same.

All life on Earth started in the ocean. The ocean contains unique biodiversity, some of the largest and some of the smallest flora and fauna on the planet. However, climate change is already affecting many species, while excessive fishing has brought many species to the brink of extinction. The ocean also stores CO2 while producing an estimate of 50-80% of the oxygen on Earth. That’s more oxygen produced than all of the forests on land combined.

In recent years we have witnessed that young people are increasingly aware of the need for environmental protection and climate action. And recently the ocean has gained increased importance. We believe that giving them the platform of a film festival can not only raise awareness about ocean protection but also inspire more young people to express their concerns in a creative way.
