OUFILM Showcase is an annual film festival from the English, Creative Writing and Film Department at Oakland University.

Please be sure to read everything below carefully!

Submission Guidelines:
- This event is only for Oakland University students. We are not accepting any outside projects.
- Students can submit projects from any classes in the academic year 2025-2026 (Fall 2025~Winter 2026).
- Students may submit more than one project.
- Please, find your film’s genre and submit it in categories.
- All submitter Information (Name, Phone #, Address, Birthdate & Gender) must be submitted in your FilmFreeway project file or your entry may be disqualified from any screening.

Technical Guidelines:
- All films, whether directly uploaded to FilmFreeway or with an embedded Vimeo link, must be downloadable or they will not be considered for selection and screening.
- Please ensure that in your project file's privacy settings that “Download Permissions” is set to “Festivals that I submit to may download my video.”
- We strongly recommend that you triple check your audio levels and that your audio is NOT limited to one channel (ie: right or left).
- Any film that includes main dialogue that is not English must be submitted with English subtitles. If your film has subtitles please make sure they are "Title Safe".
- If submitting using a Vimeo link, please include the filmmaker's name and name of the film in the title. All Vimeo links must be downloadable or they will not be considered for selection.
(Do NOT submit using a YouTube link as they cannot be downloaded.)
- When uploading your submission, you must use the following file naming conventions: FirstNameLastName_FilmTitle.mov
(Examples: MaximJago_Filmtitle.mov)
- We will only accept the file formats listed below:
(Video - 1920x1080P, Apple ProRes 422, 24 fps)
(Audio - 48Khz, 24 bits)
(Do not submit films in 4K)
- Note: Films that are accepted into the festival will be screened in 16:9 aspect ratio. If your film is submitted in a different ratio, your film will be letterboxed to display on the 16:9 screen.

COMPETITION
All entrants will be eligible to compete for BEST in the category.
All selected films’ students will get a Showcase laurel of the official selection and all winners for each category will get the best film laurel and a certificate of the award in the event.

Please note: by attending this event, you have agreed to the following statement: 'I give permission for the OU FILM studies and production to use my photograph and other media such as film and quotations, on OU Film program's promotional material and publications, for which it may be suitable.

Note: Submitting your project to the showcase grants you eligibility to participate in next year's SVP Grizzly Festival. Filmmakers who do not agree should contact us.
