  • The Optix Vertical Vision Challenge is a smart, forward-looking competition that recognizes where storytelling is actually happening right now, on phones. It’s rare to see a festival lean into vertical filmmaking as a legitimate cinematic language instead of a novelty. The team behind this clearly cares about craft and innovation. We were honored that our studio, 1905 Films, won Best Cinematic Look with a vertical proof-of-concept for Scissor Mouth. Highly recommend for filmmakers who want to push form and stay ahead of the curve.

Had a lot of fun making the short film for this festival, and Chris Reis and his team at the Future of Film Association put on a great screening at their studio. Good networking opportunity, and nice hors d'oeuvres and an open bar! Its a great opportunity to showcase your work, and potentially win some awards! Thank you Optix for hosting a lovely film festival!
