"Se-gye-il-hwa: The whole world is a single flower."

Four letters were enough. The late Korean zen master Man-gong needed not so many words to enlighten many. You and I are not separate because we complete each other. Finding truth in that brings peace to the whole world.

One World One Flower International Buddhist Film Festival (OIBFF) is a get-together for all in search of peace and compassion. Regardless of your religious affiliation, you are invited to reflect with us on the truth that we all came from the same roots.

The festival began as the first repeating Buddhist film festival in East Asia in 2021. It is now organized by the Graduate School of Digital Image and Contents at Dongguk University and supported by the Jogye Order of Korean Buddhism.

In 2022, the festival is accepting submissions of short films for the first time.

In 2023, the festival screened various Korean premiere Buddhist films in Chungmu-ro, the center of Korean film culture.

In 2024, the festival screened various Korean premiere Buddhist films at Dongguk University in South Korea and provided a Youth Film Camp for young students from all around Seoul.

In 2025, the festival screened various Korean premiere Buddhist films through a traveling program at Saseongam in Gurye (Jeollanam-do), Donghwasa in Daegu, Seonunsa in Gochang (Jeollabuk-do), Gwaneumsa in Jeju, and Jogyesa in Seoul.

2026 OIBFF is not going to have awards and prizes. The screening fee will be negotiated after the selection.

As long as they have Buddhist subjects or themes, any films are welcome!
"Buddhist" here is open to interpretations.

Please note that the schedule for the festival event is subject to change due to the availability of the festival location.

I hope this experience will be repeated again in the coming years with other films and I will be able to travel to South Korea to participate in your festival and have a close meeting.
