Nolen Sternkopf is a Pacific Northwest based independent writer and director. He graduated from San Francisco State University in 2021 with a B.A. in Cinema. Nolen is constantly feeding his passion for storytelling and cinema with exciting filmmaking projects, many of which deal with the supernatural and twisting genre elements in creative new ways.
His latest projects include a comedy/horror short film: "Fire Hill"- winner of the best acting performance award for lead actor at the Oregon Screams Horror FIlm Festival, a horror/noir featurette: "Rotten Shadows", and a period piece sci-fi short: "The Battle of Grovers Mill"- currently in the final stages of post-production. He will be embarking on production for his first full length feature film in the near future.
Nolen takes pride in executing ambitious ideas with small budgets and loves working with small, passionate crews to create something special and entertaining. His films often showcase a kinetic, fast-paced style that drives engaging character-led stories. Nolen enjoys utilizing a mixture of old-school and current filmmaking techniques, working with proven methods such as puppetry and matte environments in tandem with current technologies.
