Nikola Lorenzin was born in Belgrade the 19th of December in 1989 right before the dissolution of Ex-Jugoslavia. He completes studies in Energy Engineering and Renewable Energies between Pisa and London, and while working as an energy consultant in Madrid, he starts dedicating himself to photography, studying in the schools LENS and BlankPaper. In 2017, after participating in the film Summer School Filmidee, he produces and directs his first short movie Kuća (2017, 12’) together with Niccolò Natali, presenting it at the 65. Martovski Festival of Documentary and Short Film of Belgrade within the national short movie competition. In 2019 he directs the experimental short documentary Space Memories (2019, 4’) together with Spanish designer Lucas Muñoz, which forms part of the wider project The Rocket Trail and which is in distribution. He lives and works in Milan where he co-founded Santabelva, a collective of directors.
