Pittsburgh loves horror movies, and horror movies love Pittsburgh. The love affair started with George Romero’s locally-shot legend Night of the Living Dead, and is still going strong today with Pittsburgh’s strong film industry and the hundreds of horror and alternative artists living and thriving in the city.

Nightcrawler Film Fest is a horror and sci-fi film festival hosted at Row House Cinema’s two locations. Filmmakers and fans alike can come together to see incredible horror features and shorts, and attend special guest panels. Attendees can see new independent and studio features, classic horror films rarely shown on big screens, and of course the strangest, grossest, scariest short films out there.

Cara Popovich and Livia Rappaport have been a part of the Pittsburgh horror scene for years now. You may have seen Cara managing and programming films at Row House Cinema Lawrenceville, or hosting the often-sold-out Cult-O-Rama screenings. Livia, likewise, has been hosting local events for Etheria Film Festival, as well as running the popular instagram page Horrorpgh. It has been a dream of ours to work on a large festival and we truly believe Pittsburgh is the greatest city in the world to host it.
