Next Generation Indie Film Awards is a non-profit film awards program whose mission is to champion and inspire filmmakers throughout their careers by helping them forge critical industry connections, obtain filmmaking resources, and receive much-needed recognition for their achievements.
Created by the founders of Next Generation Indie Book Awards, the largest international awards program for independent authors and publishers, our team also includes Academy and Emmy-winning filmmakers, actors, and entertainment industry leaders from all over the world. Past winners and honorees include Oscar-nominee Rian Johnson ("Knives Out", "Looper"), BAFTA-winner Farah Nabulsi, and four-time Emmy and Golden nominee Natasha Lyonne.
As a film awards foundation, we recognize and honor indie films and filmmakers in over 35 categories, culminating at an Annual Awards Gala in Los Angeles, California.
Thanks to our industry partners (Sugar Studios, Rocket Panda Post, Quixote, Final Draft, Birns & Sawyer, to name a few) Next Generation Indie Film Awards will award a $100,000 Grand Prize Package comprised of gear rentals, location rentals, post-production services, music licenses, and other film service credits aimed at helping the Grand Prize Winner film their passion project in Los Angeles.
Nominees will be invited to our Annual Awards Gala at Loews Hotel in Hollywood, hosted by actor Calum Worthy (The Act, American Vandal, Austin & Ally), where winners will be announced. Attendees include honorees and their guests; program judges, members of the press, industry partners, and sponsors from world-leading film companies. An exclusive after-party will be hosted at the historic Hollywood Roosevelt.

1. 2022 GRAND PRIZE VALUED AT OVER $100,000
Next Generation Indie Film Awards has partnered with entertainment industry leaders for our Grand Prize Package awarded to the Winner of the “Best Overall Film”. The Prize Package contains over $100,000 worth of credits for film services and rentals to help the winning filmmaker film their next passion project in Los Angeles, California. The package includes gear rental (grip, electric, rigging), camera and lenses, post-production (editorial, sound mixing, color grading, digital final mastering), music licenses, and much more.
2. RED CARPET AWARDS GALA AT LOEWS HOLLYWOOD HOTEL
Nominees are invited to attend the Next Generation Indie Film Awards annual gala at Loews Hotel in Hollywood, California.
3. GOLD STATUETTE
Attending winners will receive a gold statuette to commemorate their outstanding achievements in their respective independent categories.
4. FINALIST PLAQUE.
Attending finalists will receive a plaque in recognition of their achievements.
5. IMDB
We are an IMDb accredited event. All winners and nominees will be credited with their corresponding status after the results are announced at the gala.
6. LAURELS
All award winners and finalists are provided with a laurel which may be used for their own marketing and promotional materials.
